Online Fighting Games!

If you haven't looked into it much before, a lot of people are playing some mildly popular games online. Ping/lag isn't really a factor if you have a good connection. On a good connection, you can usually maintain a ping below 50, which is about 1/20 second delay... very hard to notice.

Anyways.... the two main systems I use

Mame and Kaillera
You probably all know the arcade game emulator Mame. With the kaillera plugin (included), you can play a bunch of games online. The most popular ones I see are Marvel Vs Capcom 1 (my main), Street Fighter Alpha 2 + 3, X-Men vs Street Fighter, Garou, mark of the wolves(sp), Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo and various King of Fighters. The roms aren't too hard to find, but the emulator you need (mame .64) is fairly hard to find, so I've put it up for download. A cool feature is the ability to have many people in one game, allowing for things like 4 player VS games, 6 player KOF, and spectators in games, you can even swap controls for an arcade type deal. It's a lot of fun.

Zbattle and ZSNES
This lets you play SNES games online. I don't use it too much, but it has a handy feature that allows you to download a rom when you join someone's game. The most common games I see are Super Street Fighter 2, Killer Instinct, and various obscure games.
