Other games you play other then VF

As great as VF is I don't always play VF and still the other main fighters every once in a while for a quick thrill since they don't require as much skill as VF does to use effectively. My favorite ones are Guilty Gear, Marvel vs Capcom 2, and the Soul Calibur games. How about the rest of you what other games do you play aside from VF?

 

DoA3,DoA4, 3S, and Smash

 

Define "games you play". Competitively? For months? Years? Finish and ditch? Fighters only?

I play any decent new game that comes out except for RTS/FPS (kind of limits my choice, eh) - right now, Need For Speed: Carbon and Neverwinter Nights 2. I don't play any other fighters besides VF, and even that's on the break now.

Any game you play it don't have to competitive either just a game you play aside from VF.

Gears of War

I picked up Gears of War a few days ago and strongly recommend it to all fans of action games. The environments, level of immersion, music, enemy AI, and gameplay are all top notch. You really feel like you are in the middle of a sci-fi movie battling it out with these grunt creatures.

Reviews state the game is about 8-10 hours long, but if you play it straight up (i.e. don't rely on outside help to solve certain parts), the game should easily last you 15 hours.

Overall, it gets a solid 9/10 for me. Definitely the best game I've played so far on the Xbox 360.

 

+1 for Gears of War. I mean it was inspired by Resident Evil 4, and Alan Silvestri produced the soundtrack.

I recently got Oni out of a bargain bin, I borrowed it from a friend before, really need to play it again.
GTA2! Oh, they really lost me by going 3d. It sucked all of the fun out of it for me. It has trouble running on XP however so I haven't actually played it in ages.
I prefer NOLF2 over 1 for some reason. Maybe because I played part 2 first. The plot of part one was definately better though.

 

PS2: Started playing metal gear solid 3, but I've stopped at the Ocelot fight.

PC: Playing various mods for Unreal Tournament, Half Life and Deus Ex.

Game cube: Still occasionally play RE4 mercenaries to try and beat my high scores.

DS: Abandoned, thinking of getting the Mario game.

PSP: Pricey Shit Portable. Abandoned. Waiting for the new silent hill game.

 

oh hell yea, NOLF is amazing.

Lately I've been playing a bunch of Kenta Cho's indie shmups, like Torus Trooper and rRootage. Highly addictive.

Nah I've been DJing and traveling around the east coast the last year but now I'm back in NY and I've picked up VF again in order to get ready for VF5...which looks even further away as I just blew $500 on DJ equipment :-(
