This thread will serve as a guide for those who are starting out the VF series, with Evolution. I will assemble the threads and guides of this website in a quick and easy reference place. So we can hopefully bypass the amount of searching that is done so often now.
- - - - - -
On this site, is a section about general VF4(Evolution) game information. From this section there are several links, all excellent resources for starting players.

Off to the side you will see:

Game information, which has links for each character:

Akira
Aoi
Brad
Goh
Jacky
Jeffry
Kage
Lau
Lei
Lion
Pai
Sarah
Shun
Vanessa
Wolf

Each of these links is composed of:

-Command Lists: the command list for the character, displayed with [6][P] style indication. Most players have the basic Evolution movelists up, as well as the old version B and C movelists of VF4(non Evolution)

-Documents: is the section that has written guides or FAQS, specific to each character.

-Discussions: each thread on this site, if it is in reference to a character, will be available to be viewed from the character section of the site. This is applicable for any thread, as long as the information in the thread pertains to the character.
- - - - - -
In addition to the character specific sections, there are also general FAQS and guides. Even though many of the guides were written for VF4(non Evolution), most of them are still applicable toward Evolution.

Character and Technique Training board is well, the board for technique and training for characters /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. Not only can you find specific topics for each individual character, but also general topics that are relevant to all characters. Most combos, or flowcharts can be found here, as well as strategy discussions.
- - - - -
Console......anything, whether it be questions, information, or discussion pertaining to the console versions of VF should be done here. Many great thread are here, including lists of Training Mode Sessions, and Arcade names and Quests. There are many threads that can assist in choosing a joystick for playing VF with on the PS2. But remember, if you have any questions about, Kumite (though why would you? /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif), Quest, or characters Items, they go.......
- - - - -
Kumite, Quest and Items board is basically the board for the main single mode of VF4 and Evolution. Consult this board when looking for items, Quest help, rank, AI help, or anything else that pertains to Kumite or Quest mode. Items includes everything remotely similar to items, meaning wallpaper, outfits, items etc.

Junky's Jungle is the best place to go for general VF discussion. This board has many great threads, some threads are a must read for starting out players.
VFDC Articles, dealing with everyday BS by Creed is an excellent resource for in depth analysis on each character.

Also if you need to know what each (Japanses speaking) character is saying, check here

Media is the thread were all VF related media is posted. And under no circumstances, are there supposed to be any Media requests of any kind.

Assortment of VF Evo movies sorted by characters is an incredible arrangment of media by character, and is one of the best links for starting players. This was done by Madagascar so thanks once again! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You should also consider checking out the site VFZone as they have a large library of VF media, that dates a while back.
- - - - - - - - -
In addition to the Media board being a source of media, there is also IRC. Once you get set up, try:

#vfhome :

-which has a fileserver by Creed (trigger is !vfclips), which hosts 40+Gb worth of VF media. Much of this media is not on VFZone, so give it a browsing.

#barrybot :

This is one hell of a fast server /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif, and is triggered with !fserve. Here you can find some excellent files for VF, and at incredibly fast download speeds.

Lastly, once you are deep into VF, consider studying frames. And the best outlet for that is probably 1/60th's

If you still need to know the basics, click here for an abbreviations guide written by GLC.

To those that don't know you will have to connect to any of the EFnet servers to get onto #VFhome. Also Akira's knee is done by hitting K+G together but only hold guard for a very short time. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

if people are so stupid to need your guide for this site, how do you expect them to find this guide in the first place. . .

quite the paradox . . .

Well, I gave the link to the IRC section of the site. The directions from that guide work absolutely fine. But incase people missed it, if you click on orange text(like above), it is usually a link to another web page.
