PAX PRIME 2011 - VF5 FS Arcade Sessions

I am attending PAX this weekend and I am hoping other VF enthusiasts are here as well!

On Friday I'll be wearing a black/bluish Honolua Surf Co. T-shirt and dark tan shorts. I intend to spend a lot of time at the VF station and I'll probably play Lion half the time and prob too much like vanilla vf5.

I think it's great that FS will be playable at PAX. PAX has been a great place to find early fan and grassroots support for some indie, niche, and some very hardcore games. While VF isn't indie, it's sometimes found itself in a niche or even been intimidating as too hardcore.

I'm hoping there are enough VF vets and fanatics around to show the PAX crowds more of what VF looks like in matches beyond the beginner and masher levels. I'm not expecting miracles but I have witnessed at various times in the past how much our community can share the appreciation and even inspire newcomers or open closed minds when given the opportunity to share good matches and good times of VF infront of others and also with others.

So I hope we can have some fun games, and enjoy some VF chat in the company of strangers at PAX this weekend!

I won't be too shy to tell the Sega reps I'm Chanchai from VFDC, and I'm looking forward to seeing/meeting more VF players!

I will try to be on it! I'll definitely be there during the recording time (and before and after)!

Trying to find a Lion FS movelist

 

Yo try and get me a contact so I can see if I can con them into bringing that sucker to a East Coast convention, namely one I'm setting up!

 

Sad news is you have to direct yourself out of PAX and across the street to gameworks to play vf5 FS. I'm not there yet but I'll put up details when I'm there. The rep at the booth told me they had no room left in the booth for it.

To be fair they are advertising that it's at gameworks this weekend with posters and cards throughout PAX. Mildly throughout.

 

Playing FS now with dkn29 and enjoying it. Unsurprisingly it's just us but this is early PAX.

Loving the game but trying to adjust to the new commandlists and tweaks.

Good news is it's freeplay and ANYONE CAN PLAY FOR FREE.

There are two setups.

Also drinks are refillable and all the usual gameworks stuff (except the FS machine is 100% working--gameworks regulars know what I mean).

My Internet is slow so I'll post more of what I can later but matches have been getting very fun.

Is there any word whether there will be a VF5FS set-up at Pax East? I know a couple people that would be interested in checking it out first hand.
