Great flick. Saw it last night and thought it rocked although it took me about ten minutes to warm to it (some re-used jokes and just the fact that I dug the first one so much) but soon after I was way into it.

great follow up, this is the way sequels should be. Can't wait for the third.

Yup it was a pretty good movie I have to say, even though I didn't even see the first one. I was kind of surprised at some of the scenes, this being a disney movie and all. Overall I really enjoyed it and look forward to the sequel as well.

This film is good but I enjoyed Curse of the Black Pearl way more. The first half of this film bored me but it picked up in the later half.

And WTF about that ending? I like films to be complete as themselves. This one unfortunately ties itself to the next film.

well it is a trilogy. They made no bones about filming 2 and 3 back to back so I've been a little suprised at the feedback concerning the fact that they tie directly to the other. It wasn't like they cut to credits in the middle of a sentence.

Brings up an interesting point and I wish I'd been more aware of this stuff when I was a kid, I am very curious to know how Empire Strikes Back was received on original release.

Well many people including me thought empire strikes back was the best out of the original star wars triilogy.

I include myself among those who thought ESB was the best out of the trilogy.

the first Pirates was a complete suprise, I'd never expected a movie based on an amusement park ride to be anything but monstrously shallow. When I saw that there were four or five writers on board I figured it would be a complete pile of dung. Suprise. I loved it.

The sequel is really quite nice, expands the universe and sets the audience up for the third and (I've heard rumours to the contrary but please please please) final film. Is it completely self-contained? No, but I don't think it needs to be since its automatic that the third film come out next summer and if it was the whole thing would come off as a "continuing adventures of" with a more serial novel approach.

This is nicer, I feel. It allows for multiple story lines, a larger universe with intimate connections to the one we began with, and unanswered questions. I also appreciate that it wasn't "more of the same" and stood apart from its predecessor in terms of tone and characters.

I do wish that Elizabeth had kicked a little more ass though.
