Hey, has anybody played this game yet for the ps2? Impressions? How does it stack up to UFC on D.C?

I haven't played it yet, but was thinking about buying it myself. Someone on the "Wolf's crippler crossface" thread (over at character technique and training I think) said it wasn't that good. It did get good ratings from what I can remember though. It would be worth getting just so I can pick Kazushi Sakaraba and Kick Vanderlei Silva's ass once and for all /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif!!

I think you register and then they send you a free email form that says for you to input your address. Mine is on the way. IN the mean time, get the black and bruised one too.

Black and Bruised is a cartoon like boxing game for the PS2. It got terrible ratings, though the graphics are really sharp.

Yeah, Sakuraba almost had him the 2nd time they fought; until Silva used that sweet desperation slam to get out of Saku's guillotine choke (injuring Sak's shoulder). Damnit, they need to fight again /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif!

I've been play Pride FC for a bit. It plays a lot like the older UFC games, but IMO it seems simpler in it's gameplay. LP+RP reverses anything Arm based and LK+RK reverses anything Leg based. So the game becomes a strikers game. On hardest setting I used "The Axe Murderer" to to defeat the game without ever going into a straight grapple. Most of his matches were won by strikes alone. CD in and strike, CD out and evade, rinse, repeat. Very basic. Using a grappler like Royce it's a bit harder, but with a bit of perception not that bad. You only have 2 options needed for reversals and the window of execution is huge. It seems to be getting moderate to good reviews, but I think that is because the MMA crowd is starving for a game. Rent it, get a demo, or don;t worry about it. It's not a loss if you never play it. If you own any UFC game, then you're wasting cash unless you just want a new fighter to use.

Yeah, I would like to see ol Sak take on Silvia, but I don't know how well Sakuraba, now, could do against the big weights.

Did you happen to see the heavyweight match between Antonio Nogueira and Bob Sapp (awesome match). I have that entire Pride on dvd (it's Pride shockwave). If you can make it for the gathering at the end of the month, we can watch it if you want. Also, for as much as I dislike Royce Gracie; he got robbed.

Everytime a Gracie loses, an angel gets his wings.
    GoGo Sakuraba!! Hunting time!
