Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Well I just got my copy this morning (traded in some old games on my way to uni) and now I'm busy all day so I won't get a chance to play it till 5 tonight but I was just wondering if anyone has it yet/been playing it yet and if so what are their opinions on it.

I'll have loads more to say after the weekend when I'll have been playing it loads.

Hiya, if you could just let me know, after you've had some playtime, whether it's worth getting the game if one owns PES3. That would be sweet.

    Many thanks in advance.

Yeah I'm a huge fan of the series (from PES2 albeit) so I'll report back with all the differences it has with PES3 and such and whether it's worth getting.

if anyone who has played WE8 can just tell me if PES4 has removed the slow down at corner kicks etc, as well as any other changes.

    thanks.

    God damn.

After waiting the whole of Friday to get home and play it, my bloody PS2 couldn't read my PES4 disc!

Same thing happened with Burnout 3. Kept trying it over n over and it juts wouldn't load...tho I have since managed to play Burnout a few random times tho not any PES4. Think the laser/lens needs a good cleaning as it's been messing up on dvds and cds too, just need to get a cleaning cd and then hopefully it'll work.

Wow, finally got the disc to read yesterday and had a quick game. Here's some things I noted...

There's now an actual ref on the pitch as opposed to juts appearing suddenly to book people.

You get a cool little display in the top left of the screen indicating extra mins at the end of each half.

Loads more animations for tackling, running, falling over, passing etc On penalities Keepers will bounce a little or put their hands out to put players off slightly.

Goal kicks are almost like "keepers eye-view".

Rooney starts up front with Owen for England.

The game in general feels quite differnet to PES3. Different in the same way SH3 is different to SH4 (if anyone has played these two they'd know what I mean).

All the menu screens etc have been revised quite a bit and the PES shop is still around.

I'll try and get to play it some more over the weekend and report back.

I only played the demo but it felt quite a bit smoother with players controlling the ball more easily and able to run, stop and change direction more easily. Passing also seems to have changed.

Do you feel close control is better now and that passing has to be more accurate?

[/ QUOTE ] Soudns like you have the same problem as me. Here's a tip, put your ps2 vertically, you won't get disc read error anymore.

Yeah dribbling felt quite different and a lot more realistic. It's easier to cut inside people or slow down then accelerate past them etc.

Free kicks are the same as ever, maybe slightly more awkward as now you don't see the power bar until you press down square to shoot.

Haven't been able to play it again yet (nearly all my other games are fine on my ps2) but Vanity, I'll try standing it vertically and see what happens.
