PS2/PS3 compatibility stuff

the post was awesome. im just curious though. a week or two back, i heard news that there was a patch that fixed the graphical problems people had when playing a ps2 game on a ps3. did your tests come before or after this patch, if it even exists?

 

This was brought to my attention briefly after I made the post, and I'm not sure of the answer! To the best of my knowledge, only one version of the PS3 has been pressed so far, so I am assuming that the new patch is so far only obtainable via download? If that's the case, then this was the old version. I'm very interested to see what the patch does!

 

yes, there have been various online updates since ps3 came out. there was even an update that was available for download yesterday.

if your ps3 is connected to the internet, it will prompt you to update your firmware automatically everytime a download is available.

i think on the u.s. playstation site, you can download the updates to your computer and burn them on a cd if your ps3 is not directly connected to the internet via lan or wireless.

 

I just checked. I tested with 1.32 and the graphics update is apparently in 1.50. I'd like to update it and try again.
