1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Hi guys, seeing how the PS3 is not very easy to get a hold of, I'm starting this thread to post updates about where you might be able to find a PS3. This is to help VF fans get prepared for the upcoming release of Virtua Fighter 5. Feel free to contribute if you have any info as to where PS3's can be found.

*** I don't guarantee the information from here on to be accurate or active due to the overwhelming demand for PS3 ***

As of 9:08 am, Dec 16.

EBgames/Gamestop has PS3 bundles for sale, both 60 gigs and 20 gigs.

On Wednesday, December 13th, Catherine walked into the Victoria Gardens EB Games store and asked:

"So? How long does it take to get a PS3 these days?"

    The counter guy says:

"Umm... I have one in the back."

if anyone feels desparate enough to buy one of those $1000 bundles in Sriders link, it might be helpful to know that you can return any of the stuff you don't want for full value @ an EB store w/ the receipt from the box.

they've also got Japanese consoles in stock here:

they're overpriced, but I'd rather go this route than what EB's offering (can't return the Game Informer subscription or the service plan).

plague, did you get the system? I'd also been told at EB that it's just random, first come first serve @ this point. I've heard people had luck @ some less thought-of places before, like Toys R Us, Target etc, stores that have huge numbers of orders placed from now until after PS4 hits.

prices will probably come down after christmas, and more will be available.

Yeah, they actually had one each of both styles in the back. She bought the 60GB. Just the machine, no extras (unlike online). Cool that you mentioned the bundle return policy for those going the online route - I remember that from X-Box360 launch.

We had planned to wait until closer to VF5 launch - but it was there and it was just retail price of $599.

It appears to be like you said, too, totally random. Some gentleman was picking up two machines he had ordered previously right before Catherine was at the counter.

Current Amazon account holders can sign up for a chance to get a PS3.

    Check out the page below.

I've personally signed up for a 60gig version. If I do get a chance to order one, I'd be happy to offer it to another VFDC member at no extra charge. You just pay what I paid for + shipping.

For those of you that have never heard of craigslist.com, you might be able to find someone who's in your area and selling a PS3. It's like an electronic bulletin board where people pin up their wares, or whatever else they're selling or looking to buy.

    Hope that helps someone

I was able to snap up a 60 gig on Amazon.

The only thing that sucks is that I may have to buy a new stick.

    Next gen here I come ! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Yeah /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif I guess if you can turn on the analog (if you're using a Dualshock 1/2 PCB) you can use current sticks with the USB convertors available. I'm hoping there's an easier way to bypass this before VF5 comes out but I doubt it.

For anyone in the Socal area, I found a 60gig PS3 @ the culver city best buy today, they seemed to have "more of them" in stock.

the other good thing about this store is that you can apply for their credit card if you don't wanna shell out the $ all at once, and like other credit card/bank companies, they've left me completely alone since I paid off my fridge last year (no junk mail or calls trying to get me to buy more/sign up for more shit). Best Buy doesn't even send me flyers in the mail, and I've used the card to buy & pay off 3 things so far. No spam either.

Pretty much every store I walk into in the Socal area (Best Buy, Target, etc.) seems to have PS3s on hand.

The EB's and GameStops get'em and sellout in a Day or two, but there not hard to find like it was(SONY did say they was going to ramp up shipment)

Yeah, I'll say they did!! Going from launching with <200,000 units in mid-November to ending the year at the 1 million mark is quite impressive!! Of course, not having to distribute to EU just yet didn't hurt!
