PS3 Ridge Racer 7 screens!

Well, I always said that Namco would make a pimped this-is-what-it-should've-lloked-like-in-ther-first-place version for the PS3 while the360 got some wack ass version of a racing game with the RR name attached to it

Looks like RR is back!

There is still some skepticism one my part....but not a whole lot. Seeing as how there isn't going to be a new Daytona anytime soon, this is the only racer in town.

 

I'm curious, what didn't you like about Ridge Racer 6?

I lost 100+ hours to that game and still didn't really get bored.

 

Just about everything. Just playing it you got the feeling that they didn't put that much effort into it in the first place. Like a token game just for MS to say "Hey Look! We have Japanese support!" It was necessarily bad per se but it was nothing to write home about or drop $ on. This one looks like it will breathe new life into the series not seen since R4.

 

screens look cool but sadly I lost interest in the game since RR3. Rage racer was the one I enjoyed the most to be honest. It's strange though, even though Namco have access to the PS3, I can still tell it's made by Namco even with the first 2 pics, lol.

 

Well, I thought Ridge 6 was the best since R4. I didn't like 5 that much, but then I played the pal version which was apparently extremely inferior to the NTSC versions.

From what I've seen of Ridge 7 i'm very excited. The interface hints at how the ps3 is going to handle itself online. Honestly for me, if it's as good as 6, i'll be more than happy.

 

rr6 on 360 is an excellent game. maybe not quite as good as the psp iteration but close. the sense of speed is immense and the improved nitros system gives it a slightly f-zero feel. how u come to the conclusion the ps3 vesion will be better from some promotional screen shots i've no idea. if anything the rr7 shots look similar to rr6.

also, have u every played it online? it's simply good fun, something i didn't feel playing pgr online despite all the hype. it's fast, solid and most importantly quick to find an online game.

 

Derailing from a RR7 thread slightly, but RR6 is the most fun I've had with any driving game in such a long time. I logged over 500 races online trying to get my 200 win achievement. Which was a lot fo fun as most of the races were with people on my friends list so it was never too competitive. In doing that I also opened up my 10,000 miles achievement which some people seem to think is too much to bother with but I disagree. It's definitely a game where the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. The game is a dream and the hours always flew by when I was playing it. I love the ultimate charge, it forces you to memorise the tracks so that you plan the best places to use nitrous and boost your gauge that little bit more.

I love having Heihachi for a commentator too.

at the moment i'm downloading grip, notterdam nation and speedster from marketplace. can't beat those old bangin ridge racer tunes.

yes, it's certainly fun to play online. it seems to have a good solid community who play it constantly also. i try to get online most nights for a quick spin. if you want a game my usertag is FreeScotland

i don;t have the communicator however, nor do i plan to purchase one. in fact i have the voice channel permanently set to off.

 

If anyone has the ridge racer type 4 soundtrack hit me up with a pm . I needz those phat beetz
