According to magicbox "Sega mentioned that the PS3 version of Virtua Fighter 5 will be playable at Tokyo Game Show" /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

The keyword is playable not completed. I wouldn't get my hopes up for a finished version this early on. Would sega even release a home port this early on when so much is invested in the arcade, nope. At the earliest we might see vf5 next summer if we are lucky. Personally, I would rather wait and have them do it right then get a half-assed rushed version.

agreed. but still it's really good to hear that the game will be playable in TGS and in a such short time. i honestly didnt think sega will pull such an act.

Yeah... I don't believe either that the game would be all finished. Most likely they will take their time and make the game properly, not in hurry. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

hopefully, we'll be able to get sticks domestically instead of having to import them. Tekken and DOA both got localized Hori sticks for the latest US releases.

true akiralove, but we know Sega america likes to take a big dump on us americans when it comes to virtua fighter.

There hasn't been a VF release since Hori started bundling up. So it's hard to say if it's Namco that really wanted the sticks, or that Hori has recently decided to go into the bundle biz in NA.

Well, if you look back, Hori has been releasing different sticks in the US for a while, most of them not bundled, actually. The first one I remember was the "Namco" stick, which was grey w/ yellow buttons, one of the best of all time, near-indestructable. Mine still works even though the paint has huge holes worn in it from all the play. I can't say the same for any of my VF4 sticks, which had quite a short life span, esp. the Evo ones.

The DOA4 stick wasn't bundled either. I think only the Tekken 5 was.

Remember, when Sega was handling it's own hardware, we had sticks on day one of the launch /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif. These Dreamcast sticks were also really durable, with only the Start button ever breaking on any of mine.

Basically, I think it's just a matter of how much support Sega wants to put behind the US release. They're going to be making these for the Japanese market, so it's just a matter of different packaging (or if they were smart, make the original package have english and japanese text/manual). It's not like you need instructions to use the thing. Either way, they could benefit sales-wise from fans of other games who are needing a stick to play any other ps2/3 fighting game on the PS3 (if again they were smart and gave it 6 buttons).

If Tekken 6 releases in a similar time frame, we'll always be able to use those if the VF stick isn't released here.

Cool! I'm going to TGS, so I'll definitely keep my eye out for it! Speaking of PS3, Sega announced on VF.NET that they'll be running a campaign for a chance to put your VF5 character data in the PS3 version. The campaign is only open to VF.NET members. More details on 9/22... which coincidentally is the first day of TGS. Hmmm....

Oh don't be such a fanboy. They're playing something else that's more popular, no reason to call it crap just because you don't like it and those 30 people who play VF think so.

"Have you ever noticed that their stuff is shit and your shit is stuff?"

Cool, that one looks more durable than the Evo stick. I can't wait for the PS3 footage.

Looks RAP'ish. Maybe it'll be actually decent compared to arcade controls.

Too bad there's pretty much nothing in http://virtuafighter5.jp/, guess we'll have to wait.

there are screens at 1up and the new PS3 version's site that are from the PS3. Looks pretty good, not that any of us will know the difference.

judging from how low-key that stick is (no fancy graphics), I'd be surprised if it were released here.
