Rare Fights

A few weeks ago I had a winning streak in Kumite of 30 with my Akira and I encountered an A.I. named Chibita. It freaked me out so bad I lost (barely, mind you), but I did this a couple other times. I fought Chibita a few more times, not losing any of them, and on a couple occassions I also encounted Kyasa-O, the only High King Kage (who went down pretty quick.) Has this happened to anyone else? /versus/images/icons/shocked.gif

 

yeah, once you're pretty far into kumite these guys challenge you. They often carry colored spheres you can win... they're named after famous japanese players and are given kickass stats and ranking. But beating them isn't much different from beating any other kumite opponent.

 

Hey CreeD, you know the replays on the gamedisc?
I think they had a mini tournament to see who it would be you fought after 30 fights, since Kyasa-O and Chibita did best they got to be the Special High Kings.

 

replays on a gamedisk? what do you mean? (btw, are those the only two you can fight after 30 KOs?)

 

I read in egm I think it was, that some of the more famous players had an A.I. crafted after them. But unfortunately judging from your matches with them they didnt do too good of a job of copying their styles eh?

 

Every 30 wins in kumite mode, you fight either Kyasao or Chibita, who are just like all the other high-level Kage and Lion AIs but are ranked High King. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif Some of their matches are included in the game itself: view a replay, then click "Game Disc" as the source, and you'll get a lot of instructional replays and some actual mini-tournament footage.

 

wow, really? i've got to check that out....IMO, i think they did a great job of recapturing chibita in his AI; it's the most challenging AI next to Dural, who is only hard because she is too strong. i see the AI pull off a combo and say "hey, chibita does that." still, i really only had a hard time fighting him as my kage. akira and lion put him down fast. /versus/images/icons/cool.gif

 

I never really noticed that it followed a pattern, but there are other guys with the 9999 99% win rates, and they also tend to have spheres. These include bunbunmaru and mask de hijetsu. I think it's just sega's way of acknowledging the famous players in japan.

 

Yeah, collect those energy orbs! Once you collect all 7 or 8 of them, you unlock another rare item for your character. I collected the orbs twice and won a the Lilly Crown and Chinese Opera Mask for Pai. Now I have 6 orbs again, but as High King, I believe I took all the other orbs away from all the other High Kings. And yes, you can be High King!!
