Request: VF.Net support for International market

    I was recently contacted by James, one of the co-founders of hk-vf.net, for support of an idea they've had related to the upcoming release of Final Tuned.

    Basically, they want to contact Sega of Japan with a petition containing names of VFers all over the world, requesting they include VF.Net support for the International market.

    They believe that all that would be required on Sega's part is for them to allow access to the network (over the internet). Then it should just be a matter of connecting a network cable to a Net-City (or similar) cabinet, et voila, VF.Net support. Character editing can be done via a PC client, which already exists, so they wouldn't need to get any foreign telecom companies involved at all.

    The HK guys, as some of you may know, already have VF.Net enabled machines, but no network access. They can enjoy the features of VF.Net in a limited fashion (ranking up to 10 dan), but are obviously missing out on a whole lot more, like prize matches, higher rankings, character editing, etc.

    So, if you'd like to support this cause, then simply reply to this thread. We know that there's next to zero chance of anything happening, but the HK guys are serious about this, so I'm more than happy to lend my support. Hopefully you are too.

    This has nothing to do with the home port at all, so please don't bring it up. This is strictly for the arcade. Try to stay on topic, and any uneccessary noise will be deleted without notice.

    I personally think that it's about time western countries finally get some Vf.net action, it's certainly something that I crave for. It would (hopefully) increase the standard of my game and other's in my team. Let's hope something get's done and people don't just talk about. I won't hold my breath, but my finger's are certainly crossed.

    I am supporting this with all the guns that I can muster (figuratively speaking) and hope like all hopes that this goes through somehow seeing as I still believe that sega could be the sole reason for revival of the western arcade market (ULTIMATE FINGER CROSSING MODEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE)

    You have my vote. I would love to see vf.net come to the states, so we could attract more players. Whatever I can do myke let me know. Here is a site you might want to look into if the petition does go through. They sell all sorts of cabinets. Shipping will kill you, but if your local arcade is footing the bill then it really wouldn't matter.
