Sega Considering Saturn games for PSN/XBLA

So if anyone has not heard this, Sega IS considering downloadable Saturn games on PSN and XBLA so let's cross our fingers that VF1 and VF2 will be on there, and also Fighters Megamix, Personally, I would love to see VF2 since I don't have the arcade/console version, just the genesis version as part as Sega Genesis Collection on my PSP go, and I have VF1 included in VF4: Evolution.

VF1 and VF2 Saturn ports would be a huge mistake. I hope it never happens.

Sega of Japan is considering shifting a considerable amount of resources to just porting games to the PSN, XBL, and VC. The idea is that the actual games are already made, the only cost is really porting and marketing (yet most of the games that they'll be porting are recognized anyways). If Sega creates multiple studios to just handle DC or Saturn ports they could have studios that will turn a guaranteed profit within them. So no, I do not think at all that this is jumping the gun. You may be looking at the new Sega where their focus above all else is recreating their library of games for the current platforms.

The only question is, what happens when Sega runs out of good games to port?

Well and of course if they'll port VF2/VF3TB with online modes.

 

so whatever happened with that whole thing about sega losing the source code for most of their first party saturn games?

not like it matters, since i'm sure they'd be able to emulate it just as well in this day and age...

Burning Rangers, NiGHTS, Panzer Saga, Guardian Heroes are the main ones. A fully translated 4-disc Shining Force 3 would be nice too.

That would be the best thing to do, game hasn't aged very well and I find it difficult to play now.
