This is it then, the big one, and in conjunction with the game dropping in price a month before this event, we could be seeing levels of penetration and recruitment for the series not seen since the '90s.
Good luck to everyone that's going - play hard and play with bushido! I shall enjoy the ensuing videos from afar :thumbs-up:

      1) Really glad this is up on the front page! I am not crazy about waiting until the last day of registration to have something posted on the VFDC front page. WE WANT AS MANY PEOPLE GOING TO THIS AS POSSIBLE!

      2) It looks like we already have a large pool of players confirming their attendance! Here is the link to the facebook event page!

wow 10th to 16th place nets you a good chunk of change! great idea, I don't think I will be able to attend but if I did I would feel way better about it having a far more significant chance to break even! I imagine this is very encouraging for the talented players who may have wrote the tourney off knowing top 3 is slightly out of their reach and have trouble financially justifying a trip.

Damn, Sega is really taking this seriously aren't they? Two tournaments with large payouts for top 16 in less than a year? If this becomes a regular thing it could really grow the VF scene outside of Japan. But as much as it kills me to say this, there's just no way I'm going to be able to make this one. It's going to be a bad time for me in general, and it doesn't help that I'm a little low on funds at the moment. Still, good luck to all that are going, and I'll definitely be there if they do this again next year... or if I win the lottery some time between now and when the tournament starts. ;)

What's this about two tournaments with large payouts in less than a year? You talking about last year's evo? VF isn't going to be at evo far as I've heard this year.

I was gutted I couldn't make last year's evo, so I'm happy to say that I'll be going to this! I hope to see many from VFDC there as well!

Evo was July right, SEGA cup in April? My maths could be off that does seem to be two big tournaments SEGA have hosted in less than a year.
