    Hi all.

@Mods, sorry, not sure where to post this so please excuse.

I am wondering if any kind of hardware is needed beyond just the VF2 or VF3 PCB.

On a side note, I found a nice 50" VF3 cabinet in working order and am wondering if a VF2 PCB will simply plug in.

    i don't quite follow.

do you have a cabinet already? if so, do you have a model 2 or model 3 board?

as far as i know, there's no way to run model 2 games on a model 3 board.

may also wanna check system16.com if you can't identify what hardware you have.

I am planning on purchasing a VF3 50" cabinet with working game. I am wondering if all of the wiring and connectors are the same so I can just power up the VF2 board as well and run it on the VF3 cabinet.

Llanfair and Mr. Bungle are likely your best resources that I know of. I'd PM them and ask the same.

it's been so long since i last hooked up my arcade boards, and i have no experience with either north american or japanese VF cabinets (i had a custom jamma harness made), but i'm almost certain that the front panel connector setup for vf2 is nearly identical to vf3's, because i could use the jamma harness which i had specifically made for vf3 on my vf2 board. just be careful about it. also you won't need to use vf3's 3.3v power supply with vf2.
