damn the local arcade operator at arcade infinity speculated that the new cabs will costs $15,000 if you want to set up VS style. Which makes him really speculative to bring such a costly risk stateside.

after looking at this, i dont doubt him

After seeing the new photos of VF5 I'm just drooling like a homeless man who has eaten in months.

Ok, so my figure of VF5 being at least 6k was far off then.

LCD? I think Plasma causes burn-in!

well, you can't really pause arcade games....

But yeah, seeing these cabs makes the hope of any of the lindberg games coming stateside smaller and smaller...

Yeah, but stuff like HUD (life bars, score, etc.) can be a problem right?

Hopefully these game will have options for Arcades that don't want to/can't afford to pay all that money. They'll probably be sold as normal kits as well, with options for viewing in 4:3.

As far as AI goes, I'd be happy just to have one of these set-ups with people sitting next to each other.

Yep providing the image isn't static. Some new plasma/lcd technology shift pixels just slighty(every few seconds or so)the time to stop this. The burn in on plasma nowadays isn't as bad as its made out just depends on the quality of screen being used.

jeff: LCD prolly won't be able to do justice to the new game...due to refresh rate....color issues etc etc...

I dunno really, I just think I will be too disgusted to use any other lower end cabs lol

Btw, is that the card reader I see in the pics too?

I hope Power Smash plays more like the first one than the second one. The graphics are fucking sex tho'.

those are some nice new games. Loving the new cabinets and Virtua Tennis looks sexy!

Whats wrong with part 2? it added a new shot button and u had to actually move closer to the ball to hit it this time. Number 1 felt like u get like 5 meters from the ball coming, press hit and the CPU takes over, all u do is guide where u want the ball to land.

If it's on LCD it'll look fine so long as the contrast ratio response time, and viewing angle are top notch. There are such quality monitors, but who knows if they'll use them.

Really? Microsoft is using Samsung LCDs to showcase the X-Box 360 in kiosks, demos, etc.

I have the same LCD on my desk...3000:1 dynamic ratio. Booyah!

Really? I thought the first one felt faster and more responsive while the second seemed floaty and slow.
