Shenmue III closer to reality?!

Just read this on the magic box. Nothing set in stone obviously but....you know you want it to happen.

"Sony PlayStation 4 lead architect Mark Cerny and Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki have discussed strategy for Shenmue III at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. This was confirmed by GDC Events General Manager Meggan Scavio. Could this mean Shenmue III may finally get the green light on PS4?"

And yes, I would buy a PS4 just for Shenmue III

 

I hope so. The next gen system could definitely help him accomplish his true dream. I remember him saying the dreamcast wasn't able to fully achieve what he wanted because of hardware limitations during that console generation. Would be really cool if they released an HD remake of 1 and 2 and do it so there is continuity between your save state in the 1st game going onto the second game.

 

That would be nice. Release the games as a box set.

 

Cant wait to see Shenmue 3. Pls bring it here + the hd remake. I heard long ago that sega already did shenmue 1 and 2 in HD, i hope to announce it pretty soon!!!

 

I dunno about that. The higher ups at SEGA seem like they want Shenmue to die because of all the money they put into it and didn't make back. Where as the people who have played the games and Yu Suzuki are the only ones interested in seeing the story end.

I honestly feel as if SEGA will pull a Capcom and outsource it to an outside developer and have them put their money into it, then publish the game and rake in the cash. Of course in doing so Suzuki will have nothing to do with it and Ryo will get bastardized and new fans will love it, Old fans will hate it. What a nightmare! >< If that happened I would rather not play it.
