Shenmue QTE Arcade Game?

lol, you've remind me of the good old dreamcast days. Sehnmue is one of my all time top ten favorite games. And yeah the QTE arcade is damn addictive *_*... I wish SEGA would release the final chapters in any kind of form but I already gave up on this hope.

Yakuza is fun and all but it doesnt hold a candle to Shenmue.

 

Seeing Shenmue videos gets me depressed.

 

Shenmue looks like a really good game, they should update it with snazy graphics like nintendo never did with ocarina of time. (which sucked).

 

Yah it was a really good game, Shenmue 2 was released on the original xbox. You should be able to find a copy pretty cheap, not sure if it's compatible with the 360 though.

Awesome I'm adding this to my list of games to (eventually) get.

 

I'm pretty sure it was in Shenmue 2. I used to get addicted to that and I managed to get into the top 20 ranks for the highest score. I'll never get that tune out of my head

If they were to go back to Shenmue I'd expect them to start with a remake (so that all the new players could experience the story from the beginning) and then take it from there if it were successful enough. They could maybe use the Yakuza 3 graphics engine and most of the gameplay and voice acting (both Japanese and English) is already done. Maybe that would be a practical relatively cost effective way of getting the series going again?

As it is though I too get a bit depressed seeing or playing either Shenmue knowing it'll probably never be continued. I wanna play them again but always stop myself. I'm playing through Yakuza 1 but so far it's really not as good. Maybe the sequels are a lot better?

 

All the games in Shenmue appeared in Shenmue II along with OutRun, After Burner II and the versus Darts games, not to mention all the gambling ones.

I haven't played Yakuza 2, but I also felt that Yakuza 1 wasn't as good as either of the Shenmue games. It's a really good game, but it didn't feel as enjoyable as Shenmue.
