Should we be excited about SEGA Spectrum?

I just found out about Sega announcing something new during E3 called the Spectrum/


I am not sure if its a fake, but it sounds like it could be for a new arcade hardware or graphics engine,

 

Start chanting "VF6, VF6, VF6"!

 

Virtua Fighter 6 announced for the ZX Spectrum.

 

Aw man! I had one of those...

 

If it is a new console I won't be getting an Xbox One nor a PS4 haha

 

I'll be excited only if it has anything to do with "Vitrua", "Fighter" and "6".

 

What's the point of getting excited about new Sega arcade hardware? You know we're not going to get it in EU/US

I read about this and suddenly my Dreamcast turned on by itself.

Coincidence? I think not...

My guess is that its a new graphics engine for the next gen.

But my hopes are for new arcade hardware up to spec with ps4.

 

Any one know what this is yet? Someone pointed out it could be a hoax cause the A in SEGA doesn't look like the official logo.

Hmmm well "New world" could be another meaning for a new platform of some sort (hardware or digital distribution??), I'm just being optimistic

 

It also says 12th June 2013....

 

I did a quick google (sorry closed the window so google yourself for evidence) but some random dood in some random forum said it was confirmed to be a game engine primarily for the arcade but made to be flexable for ease of porting to new consoles.

here's hoping that is true, It's at least evidence that sega is still serious about the arcade business.

 

Maybe its 6 new virtua sports games and Sonic the Fighters for handheld?
