Shun Di Drunken stepping

I've seen the word drunken stepping
used a time or two...what is it? tell me about it.

 

Where'd you see it? I don't see anything about drunken stepping anywhere.
Did you maybe make it up?

 

presumably it means the commands in which he dashes backwards a great deal...it should be noted you can aslo add a to it afterwards. Hope this is what your looking for!

 

Drunken stepping is most probably Shun's Drunken Walks (,,etc). Shun's or is used alot by Japanese Shun players (which you can find out by watching high ranking Shun players) and is quite effective for stopping a straight series of style attacks.

 

As to not confuse you, the commands are:
++
++
++
++
++

Any direction then does just that -- a guard, a punch, then a kick.

As for who uses them? Low, mid, and high-ranking Shun's. It's not just high-ranking. This is where his 'defensive' feel comes into play. It's a defensive move, but is great to intereupt a string against you.

 

Actually Drunken Stepping is only one: ++ and ++, so...i don't really understand where's your head at folks...

actually...it was a technique to obtain drinks while evading attacks...
it was in a FAQ I found. It was for VF3tb interesting lil technique...I forgot the page but if I find it i'll post it here...k /versus/images/icons/cool.gif it involved a lot of rapid movements or evades followed by a drink...It's really like having a guessing game for drinking...ya dig /versus/images/icons/wink.gif i thought someone would know about it and could update the faq for the greater glory of SHUN DI /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

Evade's nothing.
That command will do a mid punch, high kick, then guard.

can it dodge backfist and stuff...you know like those moves that can't be side stepped ala' sweep stuff.

Well anyway, the old dodges are good and avoid almost anything, but I don' t think they'd evade a sweep.
The nice thing is that they often put you at a big angle to your opponent's back or side, even if your opponent didn't do anything (or if they did an attack a hair later than you entered a dodge).
