    Isn't this kind of hypocritical and uncalled for? Seriously, Myke, Kage is NOT a family member. He's not even a real person, yet you start getting upset when people start to "insult" him (it?).
    Come on man, please, don't take this stuff so personal, Kage is just a video game character and VF is just a video game. It's worth talking about bc yes, most of us here love this game but there's no need to start belittling and insulting each other's intelligence because of a damn video game.

    Funny story, before you made your little "for the slow people out there" remark on the Lau Should Be S Tier thread, I was on irc and I mentioned how civil the Kage discussion was going so far. I was kinda saying it just to mess with Shang while pointing out how if nobody started hurling offensive insults, a decent convo could be had on the subject.
    Lo and behold, the very first one out of you, Srider or myself to hurl an insult was you /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

    Look, I know you ain't perfect, nobody is but I'm really not trying to go there with you. I have my opinion and you have yours but there's no need to get so damn sensitive about it. I joke around a lot but I seriously do think that a) you are a Kage apoligist and b) you take attacks on Kage WAY too personal. My opinion and I'm entitled to it.

    Is it really necessary to call anybody "slow" or imply that maybe they can't "retain the olde art of reading and comprehension" just because they don't see your point of view clearly? I understand that you, in your own opinion, have been sooo crystal clear but if you can't debate without resorting to disparaging comments, aren't you just a more eloquent version of Shang with administrative power?

    Just thought I'd mention this before somebody got banned and/or homophobic insults and f-bombs started flying.

    Please don't patronise me, Tony. I'm not upset because someone insulted a video game character, nor am I trying to defend Kage. It's exactly the opposite -- I'm trying to give advice on how to beat him, but it seems I can't even mention Kage at all these days without getting hung out to dry.

    If from that paragraph you couldn't tell my frustration at reminding people that I agreed with them, then I don't know what to say to you.

    Well firstly, I didn't directly call anybody slow, but don't worry, keep that quote in your dossier on me because I'm sure there'll be other opportunities to bring it up again.

    Secondly, it's not just a case of someone not seeing my "point of view". What I originally stated was not opinion. There were no gray areas. I only brought up guaranteed opportunities based on resulting frame advantages when evading certain Kage attacks. All this info is available in the command list if you're able to understand frames for total duration, execution and the fact that a successful evade takes 21 frames.

    If you, or anyone else, disagrees with this then I challenge you to prove me wrong.

    Srider's reply steered the advice I gave into a completely wrong context, and then proceeded to lecture on it. This is what I took exception to. Nothing more and nothing less.

    Finally, no, it wasn't "necessary" for me to go off on Srider like that, but I did so because I expect more from him.

    And please point out my apologies and defense of Kage in this thread outside the one-liner I made about not having any normal full circulars?

    Oh, and Tony, I see you pepper the forum with what appear to be pokes or complaints at Kage and/or the TFT. If I'm so sensitive and the Kage apologist you all think I am, why am I not replying to every one of those?

    But I see how it is now: damned if I do, damned if I don't.

    In closing, I will say that I'm glad that Lion players are able to salvage some value from this thread.

    erbody needa just chill the fuck out forreal. myke is not the type to insult people. in fact, he's a very down-to-earth, kangaroo ridin, crocodile huntin typa guy and he always tries to help individuals who seek advise. however, in doing so, he may sound a bit sarcastic or condescending, but i truly doubt he intends to be offensive. it's hard to read his gestures online, but if you ever meet him in person, he is nothing but friendly and easy to laugh with.

    I don't think comparing Myke to Shang is fair either. I've read some of Shang's old posts and they are of a completely different tone than anything Myke has ever written in my time being on VFDC.

    Shang's post were hateful, gross personal attacks. He said something about "your mom on black cock" in one the Kage posts, that's honestly off the charts of hatefulness and disgustingness... I've never met Shang but I've read his posts and played him online a couple of times and, as odd as it may sound, I can tell he is a complete asshole. Just the amount of anger he responds to posts with show what an arrogant POS he is.

    Comparing Myke to someone like that is actually a personal attack because no one here would want to be associated with the type of behavior Shang displayed. I'd be pretty insulted to if someone tried to equate me with Shang. I'm from Boston an so is Shang but I have NO INTEREST in meeting that dude to play VF5 ever. I'd honestly probably assault him if he acts the way he did on VFDC in real life.

    I'm sure someone will paste this on IRC so your little buddy Shang can flame me, but go ahead, I hope he knows I think he's a POS.

    Now that I can actually believe!

    Now let's get this show on the road, everyone overreacted a bit. I never thought I'd see the day when Renzo and Plague of all people got into a bit of a scuffle. Tony is a good guy, he didn't mean much with the Shang thing - it's been blown out of proportion. Myke contributes a lot to this site, Shang was/is just a attentionwhore. Cheer up Srider.

    When we went down to Boston for a tourney Shang was an awesome host, and even decided to treat everybody to dinner. Shang is like Jekyl and Hide, online and off.

    Seems like the topic has been settled, but just wanted to put that in o.o
