Site Suggestion: VFDC Customization Contests?

Considering VF has so many items and options to customize characters with, I think it would be cool if users can upload pics of their characters fully customized (or provide the necessary info for someone else to upload a pic) and have weekly/bi-weekly polls where maybe 2-4 designs can go head-to-head and the community decides who has the best design. Each month (or several months), weekly winners would go into a "championship tournament" to decide which VFDCer has the most style!

Winners can get a little message or avatar next to their names to let everyone know they won, and also have their character featured on the front page with the item list they used and maybe some kind of "featured character strategy", be it a combo list/combo video or something. That would be awesome in getting players to either try out new characters or new things with their current character.

What do you guys think of this idea?

 

It wouldn't be fair because my Pai would win every contest every week and I'd have too many messages next to my name. The front page would be plastered with my avatar and they'd have to rename the site to VFDPai: s5sRocks.

In all seriousness, my personal opinion is that the customization is too limited to support anything more than an annual contest, and I think too many people will have chosen the exact same set of options, within 1%.

Sounds like that could be fun, but i'd have to agree with seven5suited's 2nd paragraph but at the same time with Jaytech too. If we had the updated items like in version D then it would really be somethin, but we don't so...But I still like the idea.
Well Cozby401 if this goes thru then you'll have a reason to play quest mode ay /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif and it'll be a win win situation for you. And 2 words, Balloon trick..Even tho you get certain items from your quest rank n quest tournaments you'd still get a most of the stuff like 90% of em give er take a few %

 

Now that I think about it, I suppose you guys are right. An annual contest would in fact be much more doable than weekly/monthly ones. It would also be better in ensuring that VFDCers don't get bored/tired of the contests.

Hopefully if VF5R ever comes to consoles, it'll have enough items to really make this contest fun and interesting.
