Soul Katana Video?

Is he really fighting Black Bauer, Kingofvf4 and Kaminari? It seems he is interested in VF5 and many people are losing in the movies. I tried to leave him some comments on the videos to improve his combos etc.

 

Andy, Soul Katana is member of this site. He often posts in the Xbox Live Good Games thread.

 

Don't remember ever playing him but it was my Lau in the video..After watching his other videos it seems he only posts the ones where he wins by a large margin primarily

 

I hate it when people post videos of them winning of a substantial margin.

 

Truesonic does the same too but hey, it's their videos so you can't really complain.

I have so much respect for that JE player (and almost any for that matter) Yes I admit, Truesonic does do that the OCCASIONAL time, where as Switchnationer said about Katana - PRIMARILY. Lets get the facts straight though, usually when Truesonic posts a 3-1 match for example there are reasons behind it that support the purpose behind it for example something funny happened or something, you know what I mean? You can't even compare Katana to Truesonic when it comes to his videos, he even went and bought a $90 dazzle just so that it's better quality for other people to watch, bottom line is dumb it down Tsua.

 

Wow didn't you read what I said? I wasn't complaining about him. Fact is, I've beaten him a couple of times where it was pretty one sided but out of all the matches we had, he only puts up the one match where he beats me by a substantial margin. I mean it's all good...he bought the equipment and he has every right to put up whatever he wants. Same applies with Soul Katana.

PS: Does KaminariOyaji really insult people over the internet like people are saying? I've heard several complaints about him but I never played him so I don't really know.

 

I don't care if someone has the right to do it or not because I already know they have the right to do so, I care that it's not right to make someone look bad all the time without justification. I fucking asked UKDiddy if I could post a video where it was 3-2 with a slither left. I fucking asked Plague if I could post a video where he's winning 15-0 but then I win one. I understand you're not complaining and that's cool, they have the right to do so I can't argue there, It's all good is something I can't agree with because I would not appreciate it if Soul Katana for example were to upload a video with 3-0 on me or 3-1. Dumb it down Tsua.

 

Personally, it's not a big deal to me to post vidoes of matches with players. That being said, I watched a lot of the videos and I do see that the majority of the videos show him beating them by quite a bit. I've played SoulKatana a bit online and the dude's generally a nice guy. Maybe he's trying to get his name out a bit more by showing that he's had matches with the "the big guys" (as I would say) and was able to win. Personally, I take it as a compliment if I get on youtube and see a video of me whether I'm winning or losing. To me, I didn't request to have the video posted and unless it says here's me whooping this scrub with a whack gamertag, I guess you can see it as here's a match with me and someone worth playing and posting due to their skills. I don't think of myself as a great player or anything so I'm always grateful and I appreciate it. However, I would suggest SoulKatana that you in the future post videos due to stragies or something that happened in the match that is unusual. A lot of videos posted by other users are quite educational in setups used that I have definetely borrowed (Thanks guys, I owe ya one). That's just my 2 cents, but in the end it's your youtube channel. Do what the hell you want. You're still a cool guy in my book. It's not like you're forcing us to watch your matches or even asked us to really.

PS. I've played KaminariOyaji a few in the past and I would say that he's been known to voice his opinion about shit he doesn't like in messages like about lag or Kage's advantage this and that. He's a good player though, and a lot of people voice their opinion from time to time, so no big deal I guess. He's never said anything overly rude to me.

 

This is a VF5R-withdrawal-symptoms thread, isn't it?

In addition to SoulKatana having the right to post any vid he likes i ask you this: would you subscribe to a youtube channel where the owner primarily posted vids of him losing? What would you learn out of it?

All i can say to SoulKatana is keep it up! Any vid featuring VF5 is a good vid in my books.

 

Alot of people always be posting up matches where they beat the shit out of their opponent and always win no matter what, instead of posting up matches where both sides put up a decent battle.

I had made sure to never save or upload matches where I slaughterhouse people for a match. I could've easily done that shit for everyone I've played, but I ONLY would upload round 5'ers, even against players that never could win. You post up a match shitting on somebody, imo, I see that as a sign of disrespect, because everyone has their off day and off matches. EDIT: there would be exceptions though, like say you personally know your opponent and you having a joke with them.

It's always more entertaining to see matches where it's a tough fight from both sides.

I've also noticed that on some people's channels, if you've played them before and always roast them you never see yourself battling them in any of their uploaded matches. Yet, they always show them raping somebody else free.

 

I'm usually the one getting raped for free, that's why if I upload a fight it's going to be one of those rare ones where I got close to winning or I actually won!
I wouldn't say I totally suck at VF but my defense is weak. So for those who assume that I'm making some sort of "statement" by putting up a fight where I actually beat a great VF player, like Yosuke for example, just take a look at the win count to see that most of the time, I'm getting my ass beat XD

That said, I can give a pretty good fight sometimes due to my offense but even if happen to sweep or blow out my opponent, I'm not putting that up on youtube, what's the point?
Just like I won't put up a match of any player raping me (unless I think it's funny), I'm not going to put up a match of me raping anybody (unless something amazing happened).
Imo, matches where you happen to make all the correct guesses and your opponent made all the wrong ones are usually boring to look at so why even bother?
This is where people start to think that you just wanted to put up a match where you totally dominated your opponent for no other reason than to brag about it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbs_down.gif

 

Samething applies for the GG's section. I always try to post something positive about the experience or beneficial to everybody. It looks bad when you post up a fight where the person you beat has 6 in a row on their side lol!
Soul Katana is a good dude and i know he means no harm by this.
So when it comes to this some of you guys need to check yourself.
I can't front though maybe he need hardrive space so he post it on youtube so HE can always looks back to see and remind himself of what HE did Right in case his confidence falls.

Nah i know you not talking bad about him but in general the fronters all around lol! He's alright though Slide.

 

Somehow everytime I encouter the XBL tag SoulKatana I gotta think of an extremely bad Sarah player who used to lie in wait in ranked matches for some lag-laden easy wins to get past his master rank. Obviously, that's not the same player there is quite derogatory (!) talk about here.

To me, I enjoyed some of the matches there, making me smirk the one or other time at his Kage-typical hit-and-run-and-hit-again, stance, and Okizeme tactics. His round-openers are worth a look at, too, in those match videos. Though, his one Goh match was just a bleh - I wonder whether that Goh player was even alive ...

Then again, in general, and in no reference to any paricular player, or to SoulKatana: Why should one sacrify a considerable amount of time for making, cutting, and uploading a video in which he loses? Let players have their highlights - even if they were short, and small, and marginal. What really counts is what happens on the battlefield. Both opposing participants of such a rumble know best how that played out. Besides, measurable player skill isn't determined by videos - that are record on a small excerpt of one's matches, and right/wrong guesses - but by tournament & gathering results, and opinion's of a decent number of highly acclaimed community members.

look guys, im just a hardcore VF fan (play it since VF1 on sega saturn) but VF5 is the first one i try 2 play "serious".
it was not my intention 2 harm anyone!
there r sooooo many VF replays on youtube so whats so special about ma vids? i got over 200 replays (incl. lost games) and i imo upload only good games or games with funny endings or "special" stuff in it. is it not allowed 2 be proud if i beat a good or well known player? i got a replay of phanter neogeo he has a 13 wins streak and i FiNALY won the 14. he countered my azz 2 death and it was one of the best and funnyst games i EVER had online. (already postet it in the GGs thread)
if i get my blackmagic equipment i maybe post it (incl. lost games) on yt in a better quality... and yeah! i'm proud of it! ^_^

You call yourself a hardcore VF fan, that's cool. I watched your videos and I only rated one of them 1 star out of all of your videos posted. I have nothing against you. You think I made a thread to insult you? Do you think rating a video one star is an insult? I found your videos because I was searching for some of my old friends videos like Kaminari and Black Bauer. In my comment about poor playing, I took the time to point out where and what I thought you did wrong and I wrote what you could have done correctly. I also took the effort to include the time in the video so you could click to watch right away. Your gameplay may be interesting, but is not solid, so I made a comment to tell you how to improve some things. You deleted my comment so I suppose you disagree that my comment was to help your gameplay.
