1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

So, VFDC, anyone playing it? I preordered the game and am already playing it (early access FTW). I was invited to the beta once so I am already familiar with some of the stuff there and I am enjoying the game.

It is supposed to be story driven and it is in more ways than any other MMO. Nevertheless it is still an MMO so any WoW, Aion, Rift, or any other MMO players will feel at home. It's nice that all the NPCs actually talk and the voice acting is really good. Wouldn't expect less from Bioware and I am not disappointed.

I am playing on a European 'Nightmare Land' server and have two chars:
    Bounty Hunter [Gri'ver]
    Sith Inquisitor [Griever-PL]

Send me a message in-game if you want to hook up for some Sith group quests. ^^

Any questions? I'll try to answer them as best as I can.
Oh... and I DO recommend the game of course [IMG]

Thats the thing that put me off: betatester reports saying that the game is a wow-clone. Thats something Im not interested in. I want my MMOs to be different. (when I get my new pc together I will continue playing eve online and champions online).

I cant currently play any MMO until the last parts for my pc arrive, but old republic is NOT on my list.

I played and really enjoyed WoW. I had to cancel my subscription because I was getting too into it.

Before that I played a lot of PSO.

Never really touched any other games like it. Tried a few but none of them seemed as fun or fleshed out as WoW for me. I'm interested in this game but I'm doubtful about how good it will be.

I used to play wow too. It was not that bad, although I disliked how it revolved around raids and was very gear-centric, forcing you to grind that content for gear if you wanted to belong in groups that did that content. Overall, despite having a pretty nice game world, the game was still optimized to make the player waste as much time as possible playing the game.

In addition since majority of people in this world are mindless puppets who dont realize they are led in a leash, happily wallowing in the well-designed grindingsimulator, I never really found many friends in that game.

I stopped playing after starting to get flooded by phishing emails and requests to change my PW from both blizzard itself and phishers (to this day Im still pretty sure my password was never leaked although my username may have, everytime I checked my characters I had lost nothing), but blizzard still kept repeatedly resetting mypassword and forcing me to log a new one. It was way too much hassle to keep playing a mediocre game so I just quit completely.

I should have blamed blizzard for spamming my mail with all those password resets.

if you want another wow-clone, check for DC universe online. Its heavily emphasized on group content but requires you to have expensive gear that you must grind for in order to do that content. not to mention the game is really repetitive and has very few ways of building your character.

ps. old republic is still biowares first mmo so Im somewhat interested in how they succeed with it. I have a pretty good guess though, as all MMOs are pretty bad on the launch day.

pps. Not that wow was that bad, I just dont like its design philosophy and I definitely dont like game designers just copying same old.

I tried DCU, didn't like it at all the game world was very bland.

What I liked most about WoW was the spectacle of it. The game world was huge and I really felt like I was exploring it. Another good thing was that I was able to play with some of my real life friends who played it.

When I reached the level cap with my Paladin I ended up makinga new character and starting all over again as I had more fun going through all the areas and doing the quests as I did repeating instances over and over again.

It was made especially annoying that because I was learning the game I either went in with randoms who were collosal idiots or playing with my mate's guild who hated me 'cause my gear was shit and I had to ask a lot of questions as we went along about shit.

Ended up being a catch 22. I hated playing with randoms and I didn't have anyone about my level to play with.

Maybe I should have been more sociable ingame or whatever but I didn't really enjoy the endgame. PvP was gay too.

I never said DCU was good, on the contrary the game is pretty bad despite me hoping itwouldve been good.

Yes I can see what you mean. When I first laid eyes on the inside of Ironforge, I remember going whooaah. Like I tried to say, wow world is very nice, its just the players just huddled somewhere else, grinding their dungeons together. Didnt seem like anybody was really enjoying adventuring in the world.

Also I never really got into pvp either, since I think it was pretty gear-centric as well

Anyway, I'm level 30+ Sith Sorcerer at the moment. Having awesome time and lots of sleepless nights. If I stop playing the game it will only be for my health and personal life's sake [IMG]

Try it, I dare you, it's really enjoyable ^^

Level 50 Sith sorcerer here (server: shaltin tunnels), Im in a guild with some nice people and have been doing hardmodes almost on a daily basis for a week or so. Even though thats going to inevitably bore me out, I have to say that SWTOR is the first MMO where I have enjoyed group content this much. It all seems very nciely balanced. Boss mechanics are varied and interesting, I have to utilize my own characters attacks and powers in a diverse way isntead of just mashing buttons, plus the roles seem to play well together.

Single player game is also very nice due to the stories and convos that are all voice-acted. Plus companions add their own flavor to the game as well. Im trying to find time to play with some alts too.

The game is still pretty buggy though, especially the endgame instances (theres at least 3 my guild isnt even attempting to finish due to bugs), but Im sure it will all be fixed eventually.

ps. I can play a villain, which is a real rarity in todays computer games.

I'm playing it too, I like it, but the pointless amount of traveling / loading will eventually get me to stop. Also I must say that I don't see how this is a WoW clone, it's much closer to Mass Effect to me.

Once this ports to the Mac I'm all over it. There was news that Bioware is working on that now actually.
