The 3HitCombo association is proud to present the Stunfest 08, a game festival that will take place on May 10-11 2008 in Rennes (France).
This year the event will feature a 2 vs 2 tournament on VF5 ver C.

Every year many players from EU show up to show their skills and have fun.
As far as I'm concerned I've already been to Stunfest several times and I've always had a blast ! The staff, setups (lots of arcade cabinets, stage for finals) and atmosphere are always top notch. It's not just about fighting games, there's also a lot of features to will allow you to chill out between games (rythm games, poker, Mario Kart Wii, oldies etc).
The concept of the event is a 48h game festival, there's a place to sleep but if you're not tired you can play all night long if you want ^^.

This year the event will also feature a big 5 on 5 Third strike tournament on arcade setups with players from all EU.

It would be great to see some euro players coming to participate in VF and have fun during this weekend.

NOTE: The tournament takes place in Rennes, which is ~2 hours from Paris by train, if some people wish to visit Paris after the event, I've already planned to take a few days off after the tourney and I can proly host a few people and be their guide. PM me in advance for that.

I'd *LOVE* to go to stunfest again but the 2vs2 format is killing me. Kingo said he wouldn't be going so i don't have a teammate. Hell, even if he was going it's not sure he'd team up with me, lol.

It'd be a waste of time (well, money too) to take the TGV from Lyon all the way to Rennes only to find myself unable to compete.

What made you guys decide on a 2vs2 format anyway?

I've nothing to do with the 2 vs 2 format, it's 3hitCombo that have choosen this format, but I think it's a good idea.

For your partner, create an account on:
http://www.console-league.com/forum/index.php

And ask for a teamate there.
In the 16 expected player list I think most of them don't even know who they'll team up with (me included). I came across you online and you're quite good, I think you'd find a teamate quite easily, I think Camo and Rodryu are looking for teamate for example.
Playing against most french players offline during the whole weekend is worth it imo, there's not many occasions to do so.

Yes, i'll be coming the same way i came last year, train from Lyon @9 o clock, arriving at noon and leaving the next day at 18h. Stunfest is cool because it stays open during the night, no need for a place to sleep! That's nice because the train ticket cost me 150 euros. So I'll bring 2 bottles of coke like the last time and i'll be OK running on caffeine. Now if only kingo didn't have to work during the weekend...

Concerning UK players, I do fear they suffer the same problem as greek players do: airplane tickets to rennes are absurdly expensive, transit through France using SNCF is also extremely expensive and coming by bus is not an option.

Post-event EDIT:

Should we post the tourney results here for anyone that's interested or should we open a new thread in the tournament results forum?

Kingheim was the man to beat, followed by Chibitox, thank god you guys weren't on the same team /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
