I can make a thread called DoA players playing VF lol.... I bet you $10 paypal it'll get a ton of posts.

I should make a guide on how to successfully convert from DoA to VF. I think it would get alot of interest.

Realistically, that would be pretty cool. I mean, there's already a FAQ for Tekken to VF (and vice versa), so why not?

It's not hard as most think as DoA is very similar in base to VF, just add ass loads of depth, balance, and more options.

    [
    <ul>[*]DOA: You have 4 buttons.[*]VF: You have 3 buttons.[/list]
    I think that's a start...

    Ummm actually NO.

DoA has 3 buttons on the arcade, you just use 4 commonly on the console, A button (aka throw or F+P) is a macro.

    Arcade VF is
    ----U------------Kick
    L stick R-----Punch
    ----D-------Guard

    Arcade DoA is
    ----U------------Kick
    L stick R-----Punch
    ----D-------Free

    Same thing see?

DOA players should also play 3.1.

Going from DoA to VF = Start using your fingers instead of your palm.

Tekken to VF = See above and save the dialing for the phone.

Do the thread UnsafeDan! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif DOA is THE biggest VF ripoff and the wettest button-mashers dream game. True story: once I pitted a 4 year old versus a 5 year old in DOA and the 4 year old won with some pretty cool moves and even some impressive combos.
I kept all of their earnings from the fight though. I felt like Dung King.

(sidenote: That last joke was a reference to fight promoter Don King who is notorious for swindling boxers, that work for him, out of their money. I've decided to explain some of my jokes for those that are out of touch with the real world... Ladon) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

i'm originally a tekken player, but i play all fighting games competitively. i still play T5DR, but have switched over to mostly playing VF.
    Before I continue...
both games are great. if you bash either one, you probably just don't have the mentality and versatility in the first place.

Anyways, I can tell you guys now that even with a extremely well written FAQ, it's tough to give analogous insight and understanding to a player transitioning from tekken to VF. There's not much to explain at all. Even if you go into strong detail about what your mindset should be in certain situations, how execution relates, etc., it all boils down to playing the game and learning it from scratch.

  20. im a tekken player playing vf and i do enjoy the game i must say
