The Virtua Fighter series had the reputation for having the most Realistic Martial Arts in a video game. The Tekken series had the reputation for having the Most Brutal and Visceral Martial Arts in a video game. Now that Hit Sparks have been added to Virtua Fighter, and Rage Arts, Rage Drive , and the Heat mechanics have been added to Tekken, both games are becoming more and more fantasy based brawlers and less about Martial Art Animations and Martial Art combat.

Street Fighter and Guilty Gear Strive clearly have large audiences and Virtua Fighter appears to be going in the direction of a Fantasy Brawler, and Tekken 8 has made a full retreat away from realistic, visceral martial arts and is going full on with over the top, explosions, flying , floating, whirlwinds, projectiles, muscle-bound-steroid-body-types, magic, potions, x-rays, transformers, etc. For sure there are a lot of fans for Fantasy Brawlers, but that's not where Virtua Fighter started off.

Now the best video games for realistic martial arts are the UFC games, Sifu and Absolver. UFC 4 has the most realistic martial arts combat that has ever been put in a video game ( a distinction which used to belong to Virtua Fighter). Sifu is an absolute Kung Fu extravaganza:ROTFL: Some of us myself included chose Virtua Fighter for its realism. It was better than Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Tekken because of its realism and authentic presentation. I cling on to hope that the next Virtua Fighter will return to its roots. But I fear, the next VF will have more in common with Tekken 8 , Street Fighter 6 and Guilt Gear Strive, than it will have in common with Virtua Fighter 4 Evo:cry:

But for those players that are looking for the future of FUN but realistic martial arts combat , for now its SIFU and UFC 4:eek:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the evolution of martial arts in video games. It's interesting to see how different game series have taken different paths in terms of realism and fantasy elements. While Virtua Fighter and Tekken have undergone some changes, it's great to hear that there are still games like UFC 4, Sifu, and Absolver that offer realistic martial arts combat. I think that graphics can play a big role in enhancing the overall gaming experience. By the way, while browsing the web, I came across some turbo debt relief reviews. It's always good to gather information and explore different topics. As a newcomer to this forum, I'm excited to engage with the community and learn from fellow gamers.
