The official Virtua Fighter 101 thread

Now that I'm continuing my tutorial series, I decided to create this thread to replace the original one. Since the purpose of the original thread was to gauge interest in the tutorials, I think it has already served its purpose and it now makes more sense to have a proper thread in which to post and discuss the videos. I'll keep the first post updated with the newest video at all times, which will hopefully be every Thursday starting next week. Please don't use the original thread anymore, as I no longer keep track of it. Instead post VF101 related discussion here. Constructive criticism is always welcome (constructive being the operative word)

Same thing here when you get to Pai specific stuff for me as well.

 

It'll be a while; I'm planning on talking about all the general game mechanics before I get into anything character specific.

 

Thanks for pointing that out. I corrected the information In an annotation and will list which characters have 11 frame jabs in next week's episode.

omfg please have crash do all the narriation next time. His voice is very clear and easy to understand. Highly recommend using him in the future.

 

The reason he narrated this one was because: 1. he volunteered and 2. he knows more about the properties of each stage than me. If a similar situation arises in the future, I'll ask him again, but if I can sufficiently explain a topic on my own, I will. Unless someone else wants to.

Alright, what topic do you want to narrate? Keep in mind that it might be a few episodes away.

 

If you give me a script I'll just read it out so it can be whatever topic you want.

 

To be honest, I don't use a script; I just make a mental note of what I want to cover, then make it up as I go. In the editing process I use the audio clips I like and rerecord the ones I don't. The only parts that are ever scripted are the video demonstrations of what I'm teaching.

 

This week's episode will be a couple of days late, sorry.
