Thoughts on E3 07

Nothing really grabbed my attention this year at E3. Nothing really spectacular, I guess it's because I'm not much of a FPS fan. It seems like thats whats been coming out lately. Anyone excited about games that are coming soon?

 

not a huge fps fan myself but warhawk looks quite good, also looking forward to little big planet, looks like it has potential.
Haven't really checked up on games lately so not sure about anything else.

 

Warkhawk is online only right? I'm kinda interested in Assassin Creed, MGS4 even though it's kinda played out for me, Mario Galaxy seems like the only platformer coming and also GT5. Time Crisis 4 characters seem to be too metro for my taste. They seem to be still in diapers ?! LMFAO

 

online only? I am not sure, online does seem to be its strong point, I am not mad on MGS especially after so many sequels and yeh mario, gt5, time crisis 4, whats with the sequels:|.
Rock band looks interesting aswell.

 

ive been reading up on assassins creed. that game is gonna blow everyone away if it keeps going the way it is.

 

im really REALLY looking forward to metroid prime 3 corruption! =D can't wait to see how it is online...

 

metroid 3 is online? I thought they said it wasn't.
I would be interested in ressurecting my wii if it is online

 

I wish they would remake the old metroid games like they did with mega man games for the psp. Damn that would be nice!

 

The last thing I read about Warhawk it was only going to be online.

There aren't alot that has excited me this year. It seems like some of the big games are going to be dissapointments.

The gameplay shown of Assasin's Creed didn't impress me liked I hoped it would. The crowd interaction seems forced and the combat looks like it will consist of: 1) wait for an enemy to attack 2) counter enemies' attack 3) repeat.

I don't believe anything was shown for Lair, but from what I've read the sixaxis controls for the game are terrible and it's really the only PS3 game that looks like it could be fun outside of Ratchet and Clank. Maybe Uncharted, but the gameplay looks pretty weak on it.

Mass Effect could be cool, the prequel novel got me interested in it. Hopefully it's not just another stadard RPG.

It seems like most of the games I really want right now are from nintendo: Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros. Brawl, and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

Outside of that Silent Hill: Origins looks good, but then again I've always liked Silent Hill. It did excite me to see Konami announce Silent Hill 5, but unfortunately they didn't show it in any form.

 

LittleBigPlanet. I sooooo can't wait for that stupid game.

Yes, not as big of an upgrade as I was hoping for, but I've been holding out on getting one until they redesigned it.

 

Civilisation looks good.

Not that I'm a geek or anything, it's just until the next snowboarding while killing terrorists game gets released.

 

Just watched the new trailer and it continues to look better and better. Hopefully ps3 owners won't overlook it when it's released.

That's true. I'm hoping something will come out that will make it really worth owning a ps3. Right now the only game I have is VF5.

Lair is suppose to come out on the 31st, hopefully it'll be really good.

 

Warhawk, I believe, is multi-player only (offline and online).

Ratchet and Clanck Future is gonna be a sick. Can't wait.

Lair, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Socom Confrontation, Pain, LittleBigPlanet, The Agency, Disgaea 3, White Knight Story, the new SMT game (hopefully they'll show something at TGS), echochrome, Folklore, Haze, Unreal Tournament 3 (which will allow mods from the PC!!!), Infamous, Killzone 2 all look like solid must own titles.

Then you have the three guaranteed to be AAA+++ juggernauts FFvsXIII, FFXIII, and MGS4.

Plays and looks amazing. Can't wait.

As for E307...it was fine. Nothing really unexpected or jaw dropping.

MS: Crappy presentation. They didn't hype up the 360 for next year. They basically just told us what we already knew and gave us info on what will be released in the coming months (a lot of multi-platform titles too, not much first party titles either)...which is fine, but that's not really what E3 is about.

One of the 1up guys said it best, "the MS conference was basically a big commercial for their fall and holiday line-up."

They also dropped the ball on that Halo 3 trailer. =/

Still, it showed why it's good to be a 360 owner TODAY and for the rest of this year.

Ninty: Horrible. Totally neglected their hardcore fanbase and finally showed everyone where their focus is: the non-gamers. Wii Fit just looks like it'll bore the hell out of me. It looks like I'd have more fun playing Eyetoy Play (plus, it looks like another mini game collection). Mario Kart was an after thought, nothing on SSBB (a date = nothing; plus the levels all look flat and well...boring), too much of a focus on the racing wheel and zapper shells (SHELLS! Not even actual hardware -_-) and actually playing games online...bleh, horrible.

Too much self suckage too. "LOOK HOW MANY PEOPLE LOVE THEIR WII'S!!!"

WOW NINTY! WE REALLY DON'T GIVE A SHIT! And surprise surprise, neither do you in regards to us, the hardcore gamers!

Sony: Good humble presentation. Nice info. Decent PSP upgrade and some nicely priced PSP bundles. Got me excited for the PS3 and its future (that's what E3 is about). Nothing really bad about it, except of course, the lack of FFXIII. Also would have liked more info on other games like Afrika, Eyedentify, Eight Days, etc. Best/most entertaining presentation at E3.

No rumble though. WTF Sony?
