I had i think 2004, the one with ray "allegedly not a murderer" lewis on the cover. I've read in alot of places that it was the best one....i played the hell out of it. How you guys liking/loving/hating the newest incarnation so far?

Lets blow this thread up, lol, i want opinions and i want them on the fast.

this is very disappointing. (unless of course not one single person on this board has yet to play the new madden, in which case this is fantastic).

I played the demo for the PS3 and loved it, but most of my friends don't have the PS3 or 360 so I am always forced to buy the PS2 which has been great up until this year. I am so disappointed in the PS2 version so much that this shit isn't even funny. Its not that it's 100% bad; its just that nothing has changed. The PS2 is a serious after thought. If they were just going to update the roster, then they should have just charged $19.99 - $29.99, I wouldn't have a problem with that. I have only had the game for a week and I am seriously thinking about trading this shit in.

It's a good 8 to 15 of us that get together and play Madden in person, but I've put them jokers on notice that this is most likely my last Madden for the PS2. Now I know what you guys are thinking... Online! That's cool, but there is so much cheating with Madden online; people find a way to cheat or they quit when they are about to lose, I mean it's just all kinds of shit. So that's why I don't play online that much and besides all of us that play together also work together, so there is always shit talking at work when someone looses or wins, which is always fun.

i bought madden 08 on ps3 last august but i rarely played it. i think 04 introduced the hit stick thats what made me like playin defense. l usually play rushing attack more than the game itself

I got Madden 09 for the 360 (and I had 08 before). The presentation has slightly improved (commentary, stadium intros etc) and the graphics definitely look better. Nonetheless, the presentation is still nowehere near as good as 2K5. I cannot understand why EA just cannot get this right.

They did include several features which should make the game easier to pick up for people who either have not played previous versions or don't know all that much about american football. This is good.

When playing against the comp the replay feature is nice as it prevents many a frustrating moment.

Franchise is virtually untouched from the previous year (I don't like Superstar mode, so I never play it and can therefore not comment on it.)

On the whole, american football fans will enjoy the game.

Had to bump this topic as I have been giving this a whole lot of playtime, now with the regular season in full swing.

With the 2nd Patch out, I have to say that I am very pleased with 09. Player progression is still not quite perfect, but it's good enough.

    Gameplay-wise I am having a blast, though.
