today is the day eggs stand up

I don't know if it is anywhere in the world, I suspect its not but I've confirmed it today after hearing about it on the news.

eggs will stand on end today.

take an egg, set it on the fat end and then balance it between your thumb and forefingers (set your fingers at the egg's base). Hold it steady until you can feel it not pulling either way. remove your fingers slowly. The egg should be standing on its own now.

Don't remove your hands too fast in case you haven't got the egg balanced perfectly. if it jostles too much you basically reset the entire process.
