Toronto VF4 EVO Gathering I

To all those interested.

On Saturday, October 19th, there will be a VF4 Evolution gathering / mini-tourney. Hopefully (and likely) the machine will be set to free play and we'll also gunning to get the all the fights on <font color="red"> direct feed </font color> for excellent quality recording!

Anyway, it's going to be a blast. The details:

<font color="orange">WHERE:</font color> <font color="white"> Video Funland. Located on the south side of Eglington Avenue E., just West of Brimley. </font color>

Ok... you'll have to go to Active surplus today to grab a VGA extension cable wthat we can hack into a connector for the iMicro to the standard res monitor. call me at work if you can.

Even though it's a little short notice I'll definately try to make it.

If it goes well tomorrow do you guys think it would be possible to have a gathering like this every saturday?

 

wow. Very tired and going to bed but I just wanted to thnk Llanfair for getting EVO on Freeplay. Seven hours of straight on play for the low low cost of $10 is freaking sweet.

I'll let Llan with the stats post the results but I just wanted to say that KBCat's Goh seeded top (I think) in the Ironman. Nice and Meaty are the tricks of Goh.

Yeah, I'm pretty tired too /versus/images/icons/smile.gif But it was our first mini gathering - one day notice - and I was more than impressed with seven players showing up.

We played for quite a while, and then had a small tourney. Typical setup, ironman round robin followed by a double elimination. Because of seven people, 'bys' were given to the highest seeded player in a particular round with the rule being that you're only allowed one 'by' in the tournament. Actually, we played this one out as a best of 3 matches too - we had the extra time and this gave us a bit more play time.

So, thanks for everyone who showed up. Everyone played really well and the matches were often very tight and exciting to watch. I wish we could have had the direct feed recording up and running, but with only a day's notice it was too much too soon. Next time, for sure.

And lastly, congratulations to Johnson! Champion of Toronto Evo mini-tourney number 1.
