Tourny Eileen

so has eileen won any tournaments? I know we all consider her super S tier but she didn't win evo. Please someone prove me wrong I scared for her future.

According to akai's JPN tourney data, Eileen does fairly well in tournaments -- so her lack of success at the big nationals is probably misleading.

The only Eileens I know by name are Gorgeous, Sanchan and Maron...It does seem hard to find good tournament-level Eileen player vids on YouTube. They're out there, they're just not uploading! :>

 

Eileen is still a new character to VF, so there won't be as many people playing her. The japanese tend to pick their favorites and stick with them in tourney-level play. Don't worry, I'm sure there will be more in the next year, now that SBO and Evo have taken breaks until next year. Anticipate an increase in VF5 play in general upon the 360 release and the next PS3 price drop.

 

I guess she's still new. I just remember when the first T5 tourny happened and Raven the new character won, I thought us VF fighters would be the same. I guess we're kind of stuck in our characters. Granted our characters do take a lot longer to become proficient with. I'll try to look for those tourny lvl eileen vids. If anyone knows them tell them to get off their lzy butts and upload!

 

A pair T.Hawks won SSF2T at X-Mania (one of the largest events for the game in the world), and he's the worst character in the game. Looking at singular occurrances as indication of future occurrances can be a bad idea.

And T5 takes a bit longer, IMHO, to become proficient at. Playing JTM last friday opened my eyes to some ridiculous complexities in the game, such as a triple cancel (jab>jump cancel>mist step>hitman stance>jab) with Lee just to get two jabs out. In VF, all that's required is a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif stuck in between the inputs. Strategy is where the depth in VF is ^_^

 

it is my experience that the past is a good measuring stick for the future.
