they did pretty good actually. cant remember what position they came in, but id say they do have rather good vf skillz. i know i was impressed

 

i have no idea what to begin with but as far as what i see was a vast of bullshit...
1 person and i mean 1 person came to greet us thinking that there is a heap of mans hiding waiting to play vf as soon as we came in only to find out there nobody nothing..

just 2 montiors and full reserved empty spaces

1. now i know on my knowledge that streetfighter was suppose to go on but there was none for me at all - cos i sat out for 6 hrs hoping the basics of a tournament was going to happen in the morning.

next minute its 9am and some big bird from sesame street comes in and pulls the curtain down and gos LOOK THERES NONE YOU HAVE 5 MINUTES TO LEAVE THE BUILDING

all i can say after that is lm_akira u r a safe guy and what ever but u sold us & yourself out totally and lost all identity of yourself by letting that woman run u up and not defend it for people who spent well over £450 between us for nothing

+ i thought u had more in the tank then just world warrior guile theres more to life then just holding down for 4 seconds odd and holding up lm_gash

but a life line came called LEEDS BLATANT and they where next new hosts respectful totally elite or elite2 u have my respect for such short notice..

but on the whole i am shit at vf but i made some good decent friends out of it in the long run for the 2days and i wont forget that SO

i liked everyones humor and style of play u never know maybe i can get into vf afterall the community is fun but i know for sure it wont be in manchester for a longggggggggggg time

yeah pretty good, elite2 got knocked out in quarters by jun. Unfortunately Elite didn't get through group stages, but played solidly after torni.
Just wanna add a big thanks to the Eilte brothers for hosting the torni at such short notice after the manchester fiasco. anyways next time come down to london and we'll return the favour. ^_^

Ok, I am going to do a huge post, with all the results and my thoughts and what not. I was going to post up shit about "oh my god i met Ryan Hart 1111!!!!sHIFT11111LOLLOOLLOLOMG!
But after meeting the guy, doing that seems more than a little gay, he is a top guy who is respectfully humble, I had visions of him carrying a septor and wearing a robe, with servants and henchman on hand. Alas this was not the case; he is just a man with a sense of humour and ridiculously great VF skills.

So as we can see, a surprise result for the finish, I bet no-one expected Ryan to finish above me, but I guess that's life! /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

No offence to anyone who doesn't get a special mention, I just have a terrible memory and so I have probably forgotten you.

Ryan:
Nice one. Great win, your style of play is intense, I found myself freezing up and just holding guard many times when I played you. The movement you get is mind-blowing. I was watching a replay of you, and the commands you were inputting looked wrist-breaking! I'm gonna keep practicing so that I can take 2 rounds from you the next time!

CJ:
Your Jacky is impressive. I noticed that you play quite similar to me, except I use more of his moves list; you tend to confuse the enemy with high/mid/low mix-ups. It's a shame we didn't get to play, I think you could have shown me a lot of good techniques, although I think you would have won due to your superior defence level.

Jun:
I hate you! You whooped me so bad it was embarrassing. I found myself being knocked down, only to get up and be put on my ass again. Your style of play is great, I have only played against Andy's Wolf, and he just throws all the time, so I was expecting the same from you. How wrong I was. Credit to you man.

Da Prince:
I class you as one of the funniest people that came, you had me in stitches a lot of the time. Thanks for driving everyone up here, and then across to Leeds, and then back to London. Oh, your VF skills are quite good too. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif


Optimus;
Guard cancel guard cancel GUARD CANCEL!!!!!
Your Aoi is really strong, I have never played anyone who uses her, and so I didn't really know what she was capable of. It's strange how many times you would cancel and then throw my ass to the floor. Nice moves!

Mye:
Hope the train ride was OK for you. I didn't get to see you play, but I know some people were impressed, so well done there man, we should play next time.

Elite:
Strange, I thought you would do better, still I heard that people thought you were strong, so I guess it wasn't all bad. sorry if your group was harsh, I had no idea who was who or how strong anyone was, guess it was just bad luck that you got three people that played characters who you have no experience against!

SS:

Will:
A huge ULTRA SUPER MEGA thanks for bring the two extra set-ups, without you; things would have taken 3-times as long. Shame you had to drop out, hopefully we can play when next we meet. I haven't played your Pai, so it should interesting.

Ade:
I must say, you are improving a lot, your Sarah skills are getting better and better. You should definitely stick to her.
(One tip though, stop starting EVERY fight with punch, because I was just using Jacky's Pak Sao every round, giving me a free throw on you!)

Pinking:
I only played you a couple of times. The first time I 'brucked' you, the second time you 'brucked' me. Give me a call sometime, or send me a PM and we can sort out a meeting; maybe some of the guys from Manchester could come along too.

Overall i think it was pretty successful, and if anyone ever wants to come up to Leeds for another big gathering then you are more than welcome. don't be put off by what happened at Chris's, it was a genuine misunderstanding, if you came to Leeds then nothing like that would ever happen, as it is Andy's house.
I was thinking about saving up some money and coming down to London sometime, although i don't know when, it will just be when i can get some cash together. Hopefully someone would be willing to put me up for the night when i came, but more on that can be discussed later on.
Thanks again to all who came, it was a great gathering and i enjoyed meeting everyone who came.

Fun overall, but more than tiring (12 hour recovery time).

I think the only mistake Cris made was in not having permission in writing to hold the event in the room. I believe he did have verbal permission from the caretaker, but that the "landlady" (read fat hooker) freaked-out and went on a power trip when she saw what was going on; with tables being moved around and people lying about in various states of conciousness. There was more than enough noise going on the whole night, but that was to be expected. Really good of Andy and Shaun to arrange for the impromtu touney at their place in Leeds (1 hours drive away).

That all said, we did acheive our mission in detmining the Uk's most brass teef player:

had a good time, thanks to the company no doubt!

but the thing that really sticks in my mind is that even though i stayed up all friday nite, i sware every one was in the bus longer then playing/watching!!!!

was fun going to leeds, saw a whole set of speices up there haha

and respect to hatim canning the revs to get us home

we should def find a place to hold a vf meet,

PS thank goodness no one from over seas came to play VF!

Spent 4 and a half hours travelling down on the Saturday morning to find out everyone had left. Fucking annoying.Chris-I really felt for you, I know you have been arranging this for ages so you must have been completely gutted. Ive got no money now but when I do I must meet up with the London crew, I was really looking forward to proving myself.Anyone fancy coming down to Cheltenham for some games????
