Upon offensive/defesive move?

I'm a total noob to the series so forgive me but,

When training the moves the last of the normal moves are usually (for those characters ive tried) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif upon offensive/defensive move or something like that. What does 'upon offensive/defensive move' mean exactly?

They're sideseps, essentially. Tap up once, or down once to do the defensive move, and then input the P+K to do the attack. For the offensive move, tap up or down, wait until you feel the motion begin, then hit all three (G+P+K) to perform the offensive move.

In the training commands, you'll run into offensive move P, and offensive move K. Just do the offensive move and input P and K accordingly.
