I'm baaaaack after a SUPER long hiatus on the forum. Still playing Pai in Final Showdown and really liking how she is in this installment. I'm looking to get better with her than I was previously (not quite tourney level though, but I think I have much room to improve- wouldn't quite say I'm beginner level though, but certainly not what I'd call good). One of the moves I can't seem to find a use for is her 46K+G (sorry, don't know how to do the arrows). Help please? Oh, and if anyone would like to add me on XBL, I'd love to play with some people on here- just let me know you're from the site so I don't think it's some random troll addy lol.

I haven't been playing Pai in FS, but 46K+G from what I've seen in japanese videos is mostly used to beat rising attacks. So if you feel gutsy enough to play the wakeup game, it may be worth giving it a try.

hey! i am a total new player and still learning a lot so keep that in mind as i say this. i think it can be used as good poke. its not as strong as some of her other pokes yes but used once or twice a match it can be fairly good. it has some good reach, and can follow up east with 6K+G with some small options after that like 3 K. dunno just my two cents 3 days into my VF life

46K+G is typically used in combos to cause a high bound, which can get her big damage in some of her combos.

I've just been running through some of the command trainings, it seems some of characters got new moves specifically for bounces

True but it gives Pai frame advantage on block too allowing pai to go at the opponent harder knowing she has advantage over them if they ever get too happy blocking just like her 4P that she had in VF5 vanilla and maintains in FS now. It helps her to control the flow of the game while she maintains frame advantage at the same time. If you saw the videos on Pais in FS in Japan they did that all the time. It has it uses aside from its main use as high bound move in combos

Does it force the opponent into a crouch on block?
I'm away from my system right now, so I can't test it myself.

Can anyone give an example of a combo where it will cause the high bound effect? I've been experimenting but can't seem to find one.

You should see the bounce effect pretty easily after launching with something her lifting palms ([2][3_]+[P]+[K]).

    So, for example:

[2][3_]+[P]+[K], [P], [4][6]+[K]+[G] (This causes the opponent to bounce into a floppy standing animation), [6]+[K]+[G], WS[P]+[K][P]

How do you get the WS [P]+ [K] [P] to hit after the [6]+[K]+ [G]?

You could do Pai's 6P+K,P as an easier move to connect with after doing 6K+G or you can just another easy follow up like 4,6 K,K. until you learn to do the ws P+K,P follow up. There are easier ways to follow it up relax alright you will figure it all out eventually

Are there any tricks to getting [4][6][6][P]+[K] off in the middle of the stage/ring? I was messing around in Free Training, and it does nasty damage when you have your opponent against the wall. But in a match if I wanted to go for a wall splat I would just go with [3][P]+[K]

Curious to see how you guys use this move.

once you hit the [6]+[K]+[G] you have a surprising amount of time to input the CD and then hit the WS[P]+[K][P].

In my opinion, the hardest part is getting the high bound. mis-time it and the opponent can tech roll.

the difference between this combo and the alternative enders are only about 6 points. that could be a crucial 6 points though [IMG]

Agreed 100% on the timing of the WS [P]+[K][P]. You have loads more time than you think, as it really picks people up off the ground.

There's a bajillion enders and mid-combo moves that are all perfectly fine and all fall in the 60-70pt range after a CH rising palm. It's nice to have the max damage combos well practiced because GE's right on this, it can very much be a crucial 6pts.

I spent a bit of time in the dojo practicing this combo. Llanfair is correct this combo is a must have in Pai's repertoire.

One problem that I had was that I kept mistakenly ending with [IMG][3][P]+[K] instead of WS [P]+[K] because if you don't release the last [3] of the crouch dash before you enter the [P]+[K] you get the palm scoop. Someone who has a problem similar to mine may want to consider one of the close alternatives.

According to the detailed stats (a god-send for the dojo) the combo we are discussing....

    [IMG][3][P]+[K],[P],[4][6][K]+[G],[6][K]+[G], WS [P]+[K][P] does 94 points damage.

    [IMG][3][P]+[K],[P],[4][6][K]+[G],[6][K]+[G], [3][3][P]+[K] does 80 points damage.

    [IMG][3][P]+[K],[P],[4][6][K]+[G],[6][K]+[G], [9][K][K] does 91 points damage.

Personally, at this point I feel better doing the [9][K][K] and saving myself the chance of missing the last command. I think that the 3 points is an acceptable price to pay for saving myself the risk of losing 14 points.

Doing the alternate [P][P] strings weigh in at the high 60's. So even if you can not finish the string in full, I don't think that a Pai player can afford to abandon this combo altogether.

Thought I'd tip you guys with something REALLY dirty I found. End wallcombos after the 6k+g with 3P (you have to start holding downforward while the 6k+g is executed) and charge K. Will catch the opponent techrolling and stagger them from there on you can get rewall with a K etc.

Just curious... Is that the only launcher [4][6]+[K]+[G] will work on? Or will it work with [3][P][P][6][P] or [1][P].. Meaning that combo only works on CH?

Lol I do that all the time..
