I went ahead and ripped all the videos from that tournament that has no sound. DiVX 5.02 or higher is required.
Most of the characters are ranked way higher now, as this tournament happened about 3-days after Evo was released. Still some decent stuff though.

If you're looking for any material on Shun, Lion, Aoi, Goh, Brad, Jeffry, or Pai -- then you should look elsewhere.

no download enhancers also means only 1 connection per user. Be patient -- the files aren't going anywhere.

Cheers GaijinPunch. These clips are much smaller in size and are of a better standard in player skill, loads of Sarah too!

Yeah -- too much Sarah. Gets a little old. I'm about to start classifying her w/ Lau & Jacky, just b/c there are so damn many of them --- maybe it's just my area though.

I've found my game against high skilled Lion's & Shuns has slipped DRAMATICALLY, as very few people in the game centers I go to play them, so I'm always defending against what I would do -- not what others would. Sucks -- one Lion today handed me my ass on a plate, but he was actually quite good -- great match. He was definitely high-ranked last time around.

Yes I can see what you mean. I have very little to no experience with human controlled Lei-Fei's, Shun's and Lion's. I play Kumite but that means jack as the AI is inconsistent.

Well, like Lau and Jacky, Sarah has been made more visually attractive and thus a lot of people will flock to her. The thing is, she's harder to use, there's now a greater gap between a scrub and an average player. So, eventually people who can't see her scope will ditch her and find someone else.

I need to learn her, just b/c there's a guy on the same level with me that does the FLAMINGO only -- no shit. Actually -- you can see him in the clips -- Sarah Conner.
I don't know what's high & mid basically --- if anyone wants to give me a flow chart of one of the flamingo-happy vids, I'll be in your debt.

Paul, that's what people buy those VF guides for!! /versus/images/icons/smirk.gif

Trust me, it's useful for exactly the kind of guidance you asked for.

    No EVO guides yet...

I've never been one for guides, for any games, especially when it's just one or two characters giving me trouble. I generally just find someone that's good with that character, and tell them to unload on me.

I've got a few friends that are good w/ Sarah, but rarely Flamingo. I'll just tell them to do it relentlessly on me until I get it down -- much better practice.

do any japanese guides even have worthwhile specific info like that?
obviously american ones are useless, but I remember gamest being the big source of good strats and that's done..

Anyway, your strategy of finding people with the right sarah experience sounds good for me. Even correct magazine info might be outdated or incomplete.

The magazine info is better than the guides I would assume.

My friends bought the first VF4 book that came out (can't remember which one it was) and didn't really say anything to good about it... or any of them.

Honestly, I usually play in groups of people, so if someone starts jacking me up, I just ask how to get out of it.

BTW, Arcadia is the 'successor' to Gamest.
    They generally have good info.
