I've been playing UFC 2009 almost non-stop for about a week now,
I've paused for VF a few times /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif I know all the stuff about kungfu, Jujitsu, etc not being able to hang in MMA, but after doing a long fair comparison, I think VF nails it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

It legitimately puts Brad against Akira, Goh against Pai,
Lei fei against Wolf /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif as much as I'm enjoying UFC 2009 right now, The real MMA fighter on the market is VF /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I'll put Donny Yen against Anderson Silva any day /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Heck, I'll put VF's Akira against UFC's Chuck Lidell any day.

    Akira's Knee vs Rua's Knee /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

    I agree with you masterpo...

It's a much cooler way to do an MMA game period. Games don't have to be ultra-realistic to be good. VF's animations are definitely ultra-realistic but the overall concept/style is spiced up a bit to be the best game series ever...

VF is also a great rhythm game and cooking simulator.

Yep I'm PS3 too, so I feel your pain. But VF still supports two
player and lag free, pull-the-plug-free matches are still the best matches. And for a MMA comparison

UFC 2009 is an excellent MMA fighting game, Virtua Fighter 5

Well I wouldn't call that judo or jujutsu in VF.
VF completly misses that groundgame. I practice jujutsu and that part is something only UFC has.

well the thing is.. in a real fight if hte other person doesn't no jujitsu which they probably won't then the ground game would be similar to VF's where its just a quick submission that breaks a limb.

Heck, in UFC it ends up being quick sudden submissions somtimes too

Those submission holds tend to end the fights whereas in VF this isnt done to keep the match still going. While I appreciate the new UFC game for its groundgame (I havent played the full version yet), I prefer VF's approach in VF. VF is not meant for 'full' realism.

Don't forget there are some MMA tournaments where groundgame is forbidden to give spectators more to watch. K1 or what was it for instance?

I actually know some jujitsu, and i love watching ground game things more then stand up half the time lol.

But ya.. in r/l it ends the match.. But when you think about it, in a real fight it wouldnt stop it because people might still fight even with a broken arm/leg.

But VF doesnt take into account injuring specific limbs and such, and if it did it would be INSANELY complicated lol

K1's more a kickboxing league where all stand-up disciplines are allowed. MMA always has ground game as part of it, I'm pretty sure of.

mma by definition allows groundwork. Kickboxing does not
