I played vf2 maybe once or twice on the saturn when I was a jit. How has it held up? Also, do a lot of people play online?

From what I've seen on PSN, there are a good number of people playing it. However, the majority of people on it are people that play VF5FS online. So if the VF5 population is low...just imagine...

But it's still a fun game and I believe it has held up pretty good. Plus, it only cost like 5 bucks, right? You can do a lot worse with 5 bucks...

Yeah for $5 bucks it's a steal and it's still fun as hell. Arguably held up better than Vf3

Looks great, plays great. On XBL there are a surprising amount of decent players out there and a lot of really awful players (which should be expected). I find that a lot of players are trying to win solely through "cheese" but the net code is robust and I find it is very easy to beat anything that most folk will try to do to win.

    I'm having a blast.

well the damage is certainly there but what makes VF2 so cutthroat is what Tricky was mentioning which is the Option Select, particularly the attacking OS: Attacks double as throws, Reversals double as attacks.

G canceling kills this game IMO because with it every almost combo is 100%.

I always played the saturn version with more life as it feld more fair. Had not much idea of frames or anything else back then though.

I have found worldwide quite empty myself on psn. Any hot timezones to bite into?

Saturn version was worse because it was faster than arcade and hitboxes were messed up. A lot more craziness.

If I understand you correctly, it isn't the G cancelling it is the float mechanics and damage scaling that allows for 100% combos.

Combos are much harder in VF2 than other versions (including VF1).

Honestly I would say it would be fun to play, but since i'm so use to playing VF5FS the controls for VF2 feel more heavier to me.

I'm just curious, what does "heavier" mean.
