Aee a very young shinz kick some ass.
This was a very large VF3 tournament and shinz won the international segment of it I believe... I don't think he had to face kyasao and the gang due to the way the tournament was set up (japanese and non japanese players were in separate tournaments) but rumor has it he did very well in post-tournament play.

quick edit: I converted to a good quality wmv for those who want less (?!) download time or disk space wasted. 77 megs vs mpeg's 200ish.

could u post the link to the wmv version too just in case? what's the quality like in comparison? .. i have'nt seen top VF3 play since the old interface to VFDC, lol.

edit: what DID happen to all those movies anywayz?...

Hey...the wmv is only on my PC, tho a few ppl have snagged it from me and may be able to host it somewhere.

In the meantime the only way to grab it from me is via irc or icq... and icq flakes out a lot for file xfers, at least for me.

Quality wise it's great, 95% of the original mpeg's quality if you compare side by side frames. In motion there really isn't a difference.

God that tournament was really lame, EVERY match had at least one lau in it, grrrr . But thanks for putting it up though, ive been looking for some vf3 videos, I'd like to see some videos of taka in action, know where i could see some ?:)

The lau you're seeing is the same one - Ige Lau, which translates roughly to "is this lau?" ... he was considered weird back in the day for not doing what all the other lau players do, EG he used lots of elbow-palm and tried to pounce after P+G throws.
Since you're watching the top players get slowly eliminated one by one until the finals, that's why you see lots of ige lau and akira kid.

Regarding the old vf3 movies that were hosted here, most, if not all, of them should be available on the Virtua Fighter Archive if memory serves me correct. CreeD's ftp server or fserve on #vfhome has the VFA and that's one way for you to obtain the movies you want.

There are no plans to re-host these movies on VFDC.

Excellent video. I thought it was very entertaining right to the end. I also love mpegs because you can skip around instantly and also mpegs never have audio/video sync problems.

The skipping around quickly is nice for mpegs, but I've never run into audio/video sync issues in the other formats, unless the person making the movie screwed up. Thankfully it's possible to go back and forth between the formats...

If you ever do have trouble with playing movies, or synching issues, or want to know about converting from one format to another, please let me know.
