Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Does anyone here know if VF4 will ever be for PC? (Man, I ask too many questions.)

PC version? I doubt it; there's no official info either. You MAY be able to play VF4 on the PC when (if) a/ a good PS2 emulator is released and b/ you've got a powerful PC :p

Moved into the console thread, because i would consider questions on PC versions (real or imagined) similar to console questions.

I don't know but I hope so because this game is awesome. It's the best fighting game I ever played .What about you guys?I'd rate it a 91/2 and on PC probably a 10.

It looks like the designers could come up with a simplified
version of VF to put on PC. Perhaps less intricate stages, or
different ones altogether. Concentrate on the fighters. Take a page from
Val Lewton and use shadow to hide the cheap sets. Though the stages are a huge part of
the game's allure, it's the possibility of VS mode over the Net that
is intriguing. I think this has to happen.

Ive heard that a plug in modem is supposed to come out for the PS2 sometime soon. I think one is supposed to be introduced for the PS3 whenever that comes out. I just want to ask what would the feasibility be for being able to play a Virtua Fighter game (maybe 5?) over the internet using the consoles.

Fighting games like VF or TK over internet? No way. Even 0.1 second lag would screw EVERYTHING up.

I've played street fighter alpha 3 over the net via emulator. (It's the arcade version but I own it on playstation, that's good enough /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif ) With good broadband connections, it's very playable and i was able to play very close to my top. However... Right now, i don't think i see any online 3d fighters happening, because IMO, input lag would be very damaging to the gameplay. You can afford to play a little bit sloppy in 2d fighters and still play fine, but I wouldn't want to miss any of those akira doublepalm juggles because of lag. I just don't see it happening at all, at least with the current state of internet connections. Maybe when good net connections are LAN-like. Well, just my opinion anyway.

Were you able to do parries in SFA3 over the net?

Anyway, I was thinking, perhaps with a buffering system, it may work. Buffering as in, you know, how those CD players work to prevent skips.

Perhaps just wishful thinking... but man, I used to play the Ages RTS series, and man, it was a kick to be able to play the top Korean players from your own room. Wouldn't you love to play Chibita, Shinz, et al from home. Not to mention the huge online community that develops from such.

    Parries weren't in Alpha 3.

...On the other hand, Fatal Fury: Mark Of The Wolve's slightly more lenient Just Defend is quite possible through the online play mentioned.

That said, I think it'll be possible, probably some time soon.

Less simplified backgrounds my ass. You ever heard of Geforece4 TI440 and Athlon XP 1700. We could kick the original consoles ass with specs.
