    Hey all,

I didn't see it mentioned before, but Virtua FIghter 4 has been awarded Gamespot's PS2 Fighting Game of the Year award (beating out Tekken 4 - haha)!

Maybe some people who might have looked it over before will give it a second chance. or some more tournaments or something...

Virtua Fighter definitely deserved to win the best fighting game of the year award. Congratulations to Sega, they deserve it.

As a Tekken fan since the first installation of the series in 1995, part 4 of the series was a huge disappointed. Still, I think TK4 could've been great if Namco would've released an updated version, like Sega did VF4. However, Namco didn't bother to do this and therefore VF4 > TK4.

Well, I'm under the impression that Gamespot was rating VF4 and not VF4 Evo. Assuming that, it should be known that there is more than one version of Tekken 4 (as in, Namco did revise TK4--3 versions if I understand correctly). In other words, I believe Tekken 4 was revised like VF4 was.

I was under the impression that I was speaking about VF4; I clearly wasn't speaking of Evo. As for the so-called revisions to TK4 you speak of, Namco never bother to fix stuff that everyone wanted, such as reducing the damage of Jin's LS (and maybe changing some of its properties as well), in addition to Kuma's Salmon Hunter "JF" and stuff like that. Those are the things I'm talking about.

    Didn't "fix"...on purpose?

Yeah, you should at least be able to sidestep the JF Laser Scraper if you end up blocking the first hit.

You can. JFLS isn't guaranteed if the first is blocked.

It's still a pretty abusable move, though

    Sorry about that, you're right.

That move is STILL too good.
