Rautanyrkki 4 (RN4) is a finnish multigame gathering for all fighting games players. There will also be a tournament for VF4E.

    Quick facts:
place: Soukka youth center, Espoo, Finland.
(Espoo is right next to Helsinki, so all arrivals will be to Helsinki airport or harbor)
    Time: 7.-9.january 2005.
No entry fee to venue or tournaments. This also means no money awards to winners.

Accommodation at the venue is free for the length of the gathering.

Games: all fighting games are welcome

No alcohol, drugs or disruptive behaviour will be allowed.

    Official RN4-thread for english-speaking people:
    http://www.lehmus.net/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=general;action=display;num=1100560430

The timetable looks like this at the moment:
    Friday
    14.00 Doors open (estimate)
    19.30 -- SC2
    22.00 -- SF3 third strike

    Saturday
    14.00 -- T4
    17.00 -- VF4E
20.00 -- SSBM & GGXX#R qualifications (at the same time)
~21.00 -- GGXX final (when both qualifications have been played)
    ~22.00 -- SSBM final (right after GGXX#R)

    Sunday
    13.00 -- TTT
    20.00 -- Doors close

The following applies to most of these tournaments:

Qualification will be played out in Round Robin fashion, in several groups. The best players from qualification groups will proceed to the FINAL (top8 or top16 depending on number of participants) which is played out in single elimination, best out of three matches. The top2 is played in best out of five matches.

If there are too few participants then the tournament might be carried out in some other fashion. The timetable concerning GGXX and SF3 is still under discussion, since these will propably be "small" tournaments. If you have wishes concerning the timetable, voice out in this thread
    http://www.lehmus.net/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=tapahtumat;action=disp lay;num=1094671967;start=125#125

I'm willing to bet that the amount of players at the "large" tournaments will again be 30-40+. Possibly even plenty more, since RN:s have steadily grown since the beginning 1,5 years ago.

Official signing in at the tournaments is done at the venue. No entry fee. If you will be arriving late, let us know.

The tournaments work in "bring your own controller" -fashion. How exactly we'll mesh together Xbox and PS2-players in SC2 is still a bit of a mystery.. Good will and a couple of adapters, hopefully. . Programmable controllers are banned in all tournaments.

We will strive to pick up all foreign quests by car, so if you're coming, let us(me or Entomo) know in advance, so we'll try to arrange something. You'll propably be coming either by airplane(Helsinki airport) or boat(Viking or Silja Line at Helsinki Harbor). Remember, there's free sleeping at the venue, so pack up your sleeping bags. (Better make it warm, 'cause it's
winter in here. Sleeping at bare floor will be uncomfortable)

Right next to the venue, there's a couple of shops, that you can buy food from. There's a fully functional kitchen at the venue and completely in your disposal.

Absolute cheapest way to come from Stockholm is by Viking Line, which has a saloon for those who don't reserve a cabin. Ie. you'll sleep in a large saloon all together the best you can.

Those coming from elsewhere, check http://www.blue1.com

In general, Rautanyrkki 4 is a gathering, not a tournament. We want to give a chance for everyone to come together, play fighting games to their hearts content, and have FUN!! Come and give it your best shot! /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif
