VF5: Final Showdown Beta Has Launched

I came across this (sent to me by a friend) and felt I should share it with the fan community in order to let every VF fan out there know that SEGA's taking the upcoming release of Final Showdown very seriously.

Welcome to the Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown Beta!

You have been chosen to participate in the Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown Beta to assist in identifying bugs before they are released to the public. We truly hope you enjoy this opportunity to preview the newest Virtua Fighter release. Please take a few moments to review the information provided in order to make everyone’s experience the best it can be as well as help us make the best use of the information you gather.

All invited beta testers must read and agree to be bound by the Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown User Agreement and Software License prior to using the Beta, and must keep the nature and content of this Beta test confidential. We would like to remind all Beta users that participation in the Final Showdown Beta is a privilege, and that failure to follow the Code of Conduct and/or the Online Beta User Agreement and Software License may result in your removal from the current Beta test and prohibit you from participating in future Beta tests.

Participation in this Beta test is voluntary. Any feedback you provide to SEGA will remain strictly confidential. The descriptions and findings of this testing may be used to help improve Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. At no time, however, will your name or any other personal identification be used. You are at liberty to withdraw your consent to participate in the Beta test and discontinue participation at any time without prejudice.

REPORTING AN ISSUE:
To report an issue found while testing, please use the following steps:

3. Under the Products pull down menu, select Virtua Fighter
4. Expand Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown
5. Expand Betas

In addition, check the Beta Boards for any specific testing scenarios QA thinks will be helpful for the current version of the Beta.

Why are we not the beta testers!

 

Yeah, when I first saw this thread I thought we had a chance to sign up and become beta testers and I jumped with joy.....

Nice! I'm sure they chose some good people that are good at finding bugs and stuff.

I've waited this long for the game, i'm fine with a few more months. I got MS points on stand by for this when it comes out. Not sure if i'll have 24/8 access to play online though ahh well. Yalls styles are garbage anyways lol, I keed I keed!

I'm also happy they waited this long too. We're getting an awesome version of FS along with all this extra promo and content. This is going to be really cool.

Slide, I know you out there man! I'm looking forward to that fresh flashy stuff you gonna bring with Jacky mang. Wonder what my connect to Cali is gon be like with this game... Was weak before.

 

It's good to know SEGA are doing test in selected group. I'll go to ask SEGA at NCR to see if there's any spot left for VFDCers.

 

Looking forward to the game and I'm hoping for a bug free and awesome release. Heres to flawless netcode on both Systems.

I doubt they'll change any of the gameplay, as that would cause a difference between the arcade and console versions. The beta is probably just for bug finding and fixing.

 

I was sent these for some other games in the earlier days of Playstation 3, some for games where I'd played the previous game's demo to completion, but hadn't bought the game, and one for PS Home.

Stupidly I asked my mates had they all been invited to the beta for PS Home, and that was the last closed beta email I received.

I realised after a short time that the invites are usually for people that aren't already in the guaranteed to buy bracket(or use service). They may have little interest in it, and may just have the capacity to influence other people's opinion.

It is another form of marketing products, which can work really well with the right beta audience and a good product (as in MotorStorm Pacific Rift's case) as I did buy it, got friends to buy and still saying positive things about it, all off the back of being made to feel a little special.

I suspect that quite a few Tekken, SC, DoA only players on PSN/Live will all have been invited to the beta for Final Showdown.

 

Whoa. Hey jacky4jkd,

This is really good news in all but really man... you should delete your original post before anyone from Sega of America sees this. I'm sure posting that stuff circumvents if not directly violates some kind of NDA policy that may be arranged between the folks at Sega of America and your lucky friend who gets the opportunity to play the beta copy. And because of your original post the folks at Sega of America won't likely trust to send anything like this to you or your friend ever again.
