VF5-Freak show

In that other fighting game (Tekken) we offen see same super stupid characters like Kuma and Panda(bear), boxing dinosaur, Mokujin (tree), Gon ( little dino) and brand new in T4 robot named Robote ( I am not too sure is this his real name, I forgot and I don´t wont to put T4 in my PS2 to check). Anyway, do you wont to see Sega put some retarded characters like that in VF5? There was that Alphabet thing in VF3,what about his glorius return? To be clear I hate that kind of char. whit all my heart and would send a bomb to AM2 if they decide to put char. like that in VF5, but what do you think? Is anybody out there who like that kind of char., I wont others people´s opinions. /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

 

Fighter's Megamix for the Saturn had the wackiest chars so far:
Beak(?) and Bark from Sonic the Fighters, Rent-a-Hero, the hornet (car) from Daytona USA, the AM2 palmtree, that wierd bean thing with the maracas...
OK in a fun game, but NOT in VF please!

I think if people wanted pandas and shit they wouldn't be on this site talking about this game, they'd be on zaibatsu or wherever.

A few might chime in with "sega's char design sucks!@!@" but that's ok, as long as they can recognize superior gameplay.

 

Dude, I dont think anyone wants those useless "filler" characters. They're just a ploy to make the roster bigger.
I jsut loathe those useless characters and "clones". Good thing there areant any true clones in VF.

 

I don't think that game had the same aim as VF did...and I liked rent-a-hero!!!

 

If you want my opinion i say they should kick akira off the pack and put siba back in (It was that way from the start untill am2 decided to change) or get taka back in play. But i guess they could all co exist, why did they throw siba and taka out the window in the first place ?. Just think VF4EVO on ps2 with the new guys brad and goh with the return of taka and siba returning to stab akira in the eye with a sword for taking his spot in VF1

 

yeah i agree with everone that clones suck ass,and i think that evo will have a very impressive character roster 15 distinctively different players is quite good unlike the never ending barage of clones and players that fight the same that namco are so fond of,and if vf continue to add there 2 characters per version,
we will have good things to look forward to in the bright future of virtua fighter.

 

in many ways i am very pleased that vf only introduces 2 characters per sequel. because the learning of each character specifically is so important to vf, and because each character has so many unique qualities to them, if they added more than 2 characters it would be impossible to adapt fast enough (considering all the new moves for the old characters as well, all the new properties, frame rate changes, etc.).

this is the first game ive ever played where instead of complaining "what? only 5 new characters?" i think instead, thank god only two new characters have been introduced. i sure hope they bring taka back though.

 

I am sure that in next sequal there will be for sure 3 new characters, 2 brand new and the return of Taka-Arashi, Yu Suzuki told in interview that it was to hard to make him work in VF4 becouse his collision detection, AM2 dident have enought time, but he did hint he may be back in future which is 18 unique charac.More than enough for me.

 

What I like about VF is that generally the new characters introduce new elements to the gameplay.

 

Speaking of clones have you seen that Shun Di rip off in DOA3. He does all of Shuns moves and even can counter a kick or a punch (shun can't /versus/images/icons/frown.gif ). I here Yu suzuki and the guy who made DOA3 are best pals, so i guess its ok to copy.

Clone? Imo, no offense to anyone, but I think the drunk character in DOA3 is a much better modeled fighter. When I saw him for the first time all I could do was *wish* that Shun looked half as good as he does.

What do you mean by modeled?
Are you talking about the character's 3D model?

 

The whole package. Not just the 3D package, but his motion capture, actual moves, etc. He is, imo, the best looking drunken fighter to be put in a fighting game. Now, he's in DOA3, and I care not for the game...but he's well done.

I recently got DOA3 as a gift and checked out that Brad dude...and he is done hella tons better than Shun Di IMO. He looks n walks n fights realli 'drunki'.

hmm... It's been a long while I didn't see Brad in action... But I remember I prefered Shun Di.
It must be because of his techniques like ,, with your back to the ennemy, or the classic throw...

I'll have to check DOA3 again once I get my Xbox...

 

If you mean way over the top to the point of being absolutely ridiculous yeah I agree he is done better then shun Di.
In the end tough like all other Chara´s in DoA3 he is devoid of anny redeeming features apart from looks and style.
