I think this is the first time VF has had a Class. I only go back to VF4, so some of the players that go back further might be more sure.

I like the licensing feature. If you're in a certain Class e.g. C2 or A3 it does show that you have learned certain basics about the game. I almost would rather have my Class public than my Rank. My rank is either Barbarian or Raider right now. I've been going back and forth. But when another player sees Barbarian or Raider, what does it mean? Well about the only thing it shows is that I can handle myself in those bar fights we call ranking matches.

I don't know how anyone feels yet about the new Class ranking. But I'm starting to think, (if I had to choose) I would rather sport the fact that I'm
Class A3 rather than the fact that I might have reached Warrior in the ranked mode.

Here's why.. Your rank reflects the quality of fighters you beat, not necessarily the quality of fighter you are.

I could be wrong here, but it seems like the new Class system is more
connected to the quality fighter you are.

Am I off the reservation here?

Im sorry, but where do you get those class rankings?
I havent done the turorial yet:( Id think you get it there?

On a side note: If youve got a rank as high as "warrior" or something similar, it probably doesnt matter anymore to you what kind of rank you have.
It would be nice if everyone thought like that, but if everyone could just get the class ranks offline, without competition and without the thread of a demotion, there would be even less meaning in ranks IMO.

In single player mode there are License Challenges.

As you clear these License Challenges you're put into a class. I think they start out in Class E (almost similar to SC5 classes but not quite). The License Challenges the player to accomplish various goals For instance win 3 rounds without being reversed. Or Hit your opponent at least six times and still win the match (obviously your opponent has no intentions of letting you pull that off). If you accomplish the challenges you are given a license. Its my understand that there are a certain number of challenges on normal, and once you are licensed, you get the hard mode challenges. I'm not sure there are very hard mode challenges (but probably so).

When a player has achieved a certain license class then you have some idea about the player's grasp of the fundamentals even some of the more nuanced aspects of the game. As a player you definitely feel more confident as you clear the license challenges (At least I do) I'm just starting, I'm like a Class C3 at the moment, the challenges are fun but also very useful in matches.
