Hopefully this leads to more home releases of VF (Both console and hopefully portable systems) and actual retail releases, not just digital.

This really is great news and Sega deserve it, I've been whoring the game out to my friends some of which had never played VF before. Here's to a possible VF vs DOA and of course VF6

I take back all the mean things I said about Sega whilst waiting for console announcement.

This is unbelievable! 300K?! In 2 weeks?? Not even in my wildest dreams...

I'M SO FREAKING HAPPY. The efforts of the VF community really payed off. I wonder if this means that some DLC for FS is a possibility? Let's see those Pre-fight Intros and VF5R stages!

I'd say it definitely improves the chances at least. I hope that they do something. A VF6 announcement would be the best, but a downloadable VF collection of some type (With Final Tuned!), would be awesome too.

THAT'S WHAT'S UP!

Wikipedia says XBLA-games "typically receive 350,000 downloads in the first month". Considering a lot of these downloads are on PSN it still got some work to do. I'm not sure about wikipedia numbers numbers though, 300K sounds a lot to me and I'm happy FS has received this many downloads. It did really well in Japan, wich is good. I just wish more of my non-vf xbox friends would try this game out. I have a lot of fighters on my friend list and pretty much nobody have even tried the trial mode for this game except all of you guys who already played vanilla.

Tell em it's really easy and they should download the trial. It is a lot more noob friendly than vanilla.

300K will be as good as it gets.

With the trend of digital sales, what I've notice is this (from SEGA's VOOT): After the first several weeks, sales will typically die out. However, sales will pick up again after a temporary price slash. Usually 6 months to 1 year after the game's release. Each sequential sale will do less and less.

VOOT is what I would consider to be a bit of a niche game. Mainly bought by people on the premise of nostalgia. FS has more hype/mass appeal/marketing behind it. I say 'more' but VOOT pretty much had none of these things to begin with so I don't think you can really compare the two.
