    Hey fellow VFDC visitors

    I wanted to ask if there are other Snooker enthusiasts on this board and we could use this topic for discussion related to Snooker (might aswell Pool and Carambol when we're at it)

    So to get this going (hopefully) Who's your favorite Snooker player?
    Are you currently watching the Welsh Open?
    Who do you think should win?

    I want at least one "RONNIE O'SULLIVAN!!!" before I have to abandon this thread [IMG]

    I sometimes follow snooker from Eurosport channel, as its one of the few interesting stuff that goes on there. Im no 'enthusiast' as such, I dont play snooker myself, it's just something I follow on the telly.

    My favorite players are Judd Trump and Neil Robertson.

    I have watched few matches from Welsh open. Too bad that Trump lost to Selby but Selby was in the zone in that match.

    Exactly, it's the only thing I watch on Eurosport.

    I was pretty sad that O'Sullivan lost to Selby in the Semi finals. Good to see Ding Junhui winning, though.

    Well I know who Ronnie O'Sullivan is but that's pretty much where my knowledge of Snooker ends.

    I used to watch Big Break as a kid if that counts?

    I just realised how funny the word Snooker looks.

    I've met Stephen Hendry a couple of times and my dad's friend Marcus plays proffesionaly, well he used to, dunno if he still does. I don't really follow the sport but I enjoy a game from time to time. Play pool more often.

    I'm not a snooker player or follower.

    However, I can definitely play pool on a casual level. I can play a decent 8-ball solids vs. stripes game required to break, call which ball and pocket I'm aiming for on shot, call shot type (straight shot or bank shot) and occasionally run the table for a round or two, etc. But I'm not able to play 9-ball well at all because I cannot consistently put the cue ball in a desired position to set up for an easy follow-up shot on the next target ball. Just not good enough to strike the cue ball, pocket the target ball, and also put the right amount of english/spin on the cue ball to get it to move exactly where I want after the deflection. Heh, I hope that makes sense.

    @Seidon: How's Hendry in person?

    @Kruza: Yeah that's how I would consider my level of play too, but I do still like to play 9-Ball and 14/1e more often. Even tried a Snooker game, those two frames were embarrasing.

    I'm working to become good at Snooker with training from Pool (potting) and Carambol (positioning).
