VFer weapon choice in SCIV?

For those VFers that are playing SCIV, I'm wondering does VF character preference and style dictate what SCIV weapon and character they choose.

Do Akira players tend to pick Sigfried?
Do Wolf players go for the big sledge hammer or Astaroth?
Do Pai or Eileen players go with Taki?
Do Shun Di players go for Voldo?

I'm a Lei Fei players and I went straight for Kilik and Mitsurugi.

I'm wondering can you guess what somebody will go with in SCIV based on what they go with in VF5? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

 

i'm trying to be an akira player since vf remix for pc, and when i started playing soul calibur (II and III) i used misturugi.
I don't know why but.. sigfried looks to oversize for me ._.

 

I play Zasalamel.

 

Lei Fei players will use whoever is generally considered the top tier character...

 

Im trying to play a whole slew of chars but the characters I understand completely so far are Taki, Kilik, and Yun (who I'm putting at low-tier). I'm picking up and liking Yoshi so far though

 

I've always been a big Seigfried user, but I can only use him after I've figured out my opponents. My real best character is Sophitia. I really want to get good with Talim because she is very much like eileen with her flips and shit but I need to give her some more love.

So to answer the question I'm a Sophitia player but I consider myself equaly as good with siegfried it just takes more work to win with him mentally cuz I have to yomi like a mofo

 

Lion player here. Been wanting to pick up Raphael.

 

I would've thought that Akira players use Setsuka, since they now almost play exactly the same.

I think everyone is better with Sophitia/Cassandra har, har, har.

 

I'm a Goh player. And in Soul Calibur I used Voldo.

 

I played SC before VF. El Blaze and Raph don't really mesh up too well, but I do tend to annoy people with weird stance changes and a heavy emphasis on keeping up momentum.

 

I'm an Aoi player, and tried to go with X in SC. Lightweight character with some command throws, good cancels, and some generally slow moves, but fast when they need to be.

But, instead I'm actually using Amy now... apparently 3 letters names that start with 'A' trumps playstyle.

 

who is top tier? That's who I will be using! I don't have time to waste learning this game. I'll just pick the strongest and go own noobs! so who is the strongest?

I play Akira, but Hwang use to be the Original protagonist in Soul Edge I believe, which whom I played with.

 

Well, noone really knows yet, the game's only been out a week...

But that said, Siegfried is looking the most troublesome at the moment, especially for cheap, spammy wins. His close range knee is one of the fastest moves in the game, and at mid to long range, he's got one of the best combinations of range and speed. Not to mention his soul gauge damage is whack, so he basically just ranges people out, and then pokes while his opponent guards until he can do a critical finish.

Mitsurugi is also very good as a noob killer (2kb spam ftw), but looks much less abusable at higher levels of play. He has very strong mix-ups, but they don't do so much damage that people can't afford to guess wrong a few times and still turn the match around.

I use Maxi most in SC, and I use Lau most in VF5. I don't see any deep connection between the two aside from the heavy offense.

 

You talking about Ivy? She has always been a really good character.

 

yes sir. ivy has been my main for a while now. and she's the only character that changes drastically every game. i still have mixed feelings about her changes now though. wierd...

 

There aren't really too many parallels character wise with VF and SC though. Like sure Tira has her 66666A/K/B moves which is like doing akira's eblow on crack but other than that she's totally different.

Sure there are stances but almost everyone in SC has a stance they can shift into at one point or another, though i would say Seig uses stances the most similarly to lei since he relies on stance shuffling at higher levels in order to confound your opponent just like lei. . . EXCEPT with a HUGE ass sword FTW.
